One tube removed, other with hydrosalpinx.

Post by DanaJG »

I was diagnosed last month with an ectopic pregnancy in my left Fallopian tube (which was removed in a salpingectomy), and a hydrosalpinx in my right tube (which I still have). The doctor believes the hydrosalpinx was caused by a Chlamydia infection that went untreated for a while in 2009. The doctor essentially told me I cannot get pregnant naturally at this point; in the unlikely event that I do, it will more than likely be another ectopic pregnancy. He recommended IVF for when I do decide to get pregnant, but I've also read that having a hydrosalpinx significantly reduces the success rate of this procedure.

I am interested in taking every possible measure to treat the hydrosalpinx naturally, to increase my ability of natural conception. I am drinking a tea that I brew, daily, consisting of red clover leaves and flowers, peppermint leaves, and red raspberry leaves. I am doing yoga and massage for fertility (a few times a week), as well as acupunture (which I started a few weeks ago and will continue to do on a monthly basis). I am drinking plenty of water and eating organic/natural, doing my best to avoid excess hormones. I gravitate towards leafy greens, ginger, garlic, anything high in antioxidants, etc. I take vitamins every day, including liposomal Vitamin C, fish oil, and Dong Quai. Additionally, I am starting to use hot castor oil packs over the affected area, about once a week. I have also heard about "charcoal poultices," which I am interested in trying (activated charcoal and flaxseeds in a paper towel pack that you put over your abdomen overnight).

Has anyone had success with conceiving naturally in a situation like mine - with only one tube, that tube being damaged? Does anyone have any personal experience with natural treatments for a hydrosalpinx? My doctor talks about the damaged tube as if it has no hope, and has never mentioned the possibility of curing it, and instead focuses on the option of IVF for pregnancy. I would love to hear from anyone who has any feedback about my situation.

"You have to be calm down during this journey. It is really difficult I know that. I am also infertile. I can imagine the pain of infertility. I do not have any way to cope with it. My husband is a loving person. But my in-laws want a baby. I am getting depressed day by day. I have an infection in fallopian tubes. It is due to the failed IVF cycles. My husband is saying me for surrogacy. His friend told him about this. I am confused."
