Looking for Surrogacy – Welcome any suggestions

After years of tests and failed IVF attempts, my DH and I have learnt that I will not be able to carry a pregnancy term and that chances of miscarriage will be high even after the first trimester. We are now exploring surrogacy options and have researched on quite a number of agencies. However, we find that there are no standardized rules and procedures, services offered and even requirements for matching. We live in WA that does not allow surrogacy so we are open to trying clinics in other states or even abroad if necessary. Any information in this regard is welcome.

First, let me tell you that I understand your feelings as I have been through a similar situation. Today I have a healthy child through surrogacy with my eggs. Infertility clinics have their own techniques and this determines their success rate and reputation. I cannot say much of clinics in the USA as I had opted for a clinic in Ukraine, a country where infertility clinics are considered to be the best for surrogacy and IVF treatments. I want to add to what Dianna has said as I have firsthand experience at BioTexCom, a clinic at Kiev, Ukraine. Cost here is far lower than that prevailing in clinics in the USA. On higher packages (29,900 euro) you get unlimited attempts with donor or own eggs until pregnancy is achieved. The clinic also provides free accommodation and transportation. Lower packages start at 4,900 euro for one IVF attempt with donor eggs. You can check out the rates of other packages from their website too.

The USA has, on average, the highest costs but also the highest success rates, both by wide margins. Part of that is the high drug cost. In the end, you get what you pay for.

The USA used to trail behind other nations on safety, often because of transferring too many embryos and having too many multiples, but that has changed in the last 5 years. The leading centers can achieve excellent success rates with single embryos, but most still offer double embryo transfer for patients that insist on it, often for gestational carrier cycles.

But there are about 500 centers in the USA, and they vary a great deal in practice. Some use inexpensive protocols with modest success rates, typical of other countries.

If one is using a gestational carrier, the cost of her service is already high, so it would be illogical to then pinch pennies on the IVF cycle itself.

Hi Nancy, sorry to hear about your failed IVF attempts. If surrogacy is the only option left for you and you're absolutely certain about it I may be able to suggest you a few clinics abroad that guarantee your motherhood. A couple of my clinical trial volunteers got pregnant with their babies at this clinic. One was ICSI+IVF when everyone else declared her eggs to be not fit for fertilisation after having failed with 2 IVF attempts and was suggested surrogacy. But she was reluctant about it. The second one had a weak cervix which used to get dilated in around 8 weeks time after conceiving causing miscarriages repeatedly. This clinic has a high success rate and helps with the legal proceedings as well. Plus, from 12 weeks onwards you can meet or be in constant contact with the surrogate mother.

"Sorry miss. Your eggs are just not fit to fertilize. I will not waste prescious sperm on them."

List that one among conversations that have never happened in all of human history.

By the way, it would make no sense to recommend "surrogacy" to remedy a fertilization, egg, or embryo issue. Surrogacy is for those that cannot carry a pregnancy, such as same-sex male couples or women with uterine defects.

I agree to what 2 has said. If you are willing to try out other countries, go for Ukraine. I have had a successful IVF from a clinic there and can vouch for the quality of treatment. I can give one example. In my case the doctors collected fresh genetic material instead of depending on frozen eggs. Freezing I am told lowers the quality and potency of eggs. I would suggest Ukraine for you. Good luck!

Surrogacy is the best option if you can't carry pregnancy by your own. There are many clinics which provides surrogacy with positive outcomes. The chosen clinic plays an important role in successive surrogacy. The clinic must be authentic and trustworthy. My sister had baby through surrogacy from a clinic in Ukraine. They provide us best knowledge about surrogacy and surrogate mother when we reached there. They showed us the database of the surrogate mothers they deal with. We mentioned them our requirements, then they showed us surrogate mothers accordingly. Most importantly they taken care of surrogates till the baby is born. After delivery they immediately handover us our baby with all legal formalities done. It was a wonderful experience. My sister and our family is very happy with the results because they are also afraid of surrogacy thing like all others. Hope it helps you. Good Luck.

Ukraine is one of the best places for these services because Surrogacy is legal there and laws protect intended parents.
I can advice you to browse the website of Babyboom Clinic. As far as I know they provide good service in this field.
Moreover, Ukraine has reasonable prices.
