I am not sure if I am in the correct forum. My DH and I have been trying to conceive for the past 1 1/2 years. I was pregnant at 17, but terminated the pregnancy. I am now 36 and DH is 42. I have been tested and found to be quite healty and capable of getting pregnant. DH's sperm count is exceptionally low, however. Roughly, what are our chances of having a successful IVF, both with and without ICSI, the first time around?

It depends on your facility. At my facility you would have a 60% chance. Since the diagnosis is a low sperm count and with the ICSI technology, I feel your chances would be very good! Good luck!

I think you should visit a fertility expert to find a solution in improving your husband's sperm. Try to check in clinics at Ukraine.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a specialised form of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) that is used for the treatment of severe cases of male-factor infertility. ICSI involves the injection of a single sperm directly into a mature egg. Both IVF and ICSI are same expect the procedure. In IVF, the sperm and egg are fertilized in a lab dish whereas in ICSI the sperm is directly injected to egg to make it more fertile. The ICSI is used in case of:
The man has very low sperm count, the sperm have low motility
Previous IVF attempts have failed
The fertilization rate had been unexpectedly poor
Frozen sperm is being used in the treatment.

I understand how difficult is this to not have a baby even after trying for 1-1.5 years. It's quite difficult to be strong in that time. But you should try to be strong and positive. As you said are healthy enough to get pregnant but your husband has low sperm count. Then firstly you should natural ways to increase his sperm count or medication can be an option. There are many ways to increase sperm counts. At last, if nothing works then you can go with IVF & if you want a baby with your husband's sperm then you can undergo IVF with ICSI but for that, your husband should have enough sperm quality Otherwise you can also try IVF with donor sperm. Hello Brolem. You are on the right place. Don’t worry about this. You can discuss about anything that is bothering you. Why did you terminated the pregnancy when you first got pregnant? I will recommend you to go for IVF with ICSI. It increases the success rate of IVF. Good luck.

Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Well, I think you are not on the right forum. I mean I hope you can find some helpful answers or suggestions here. However, I'd recommend that he speaks with someone expert.
