donor eggs, how to find donor?

Post by Millia »

Is there anyone who used or is planning to use donor eggs? What are results? How and where did you find donor? Due to condition of my health de ivf is my last chance to have a baby. It’s so hard for me to decide on this procedure. I want to ask those girls who had already underwent this procedure, how do you feel now? Do you have regrets? What are your feelings toward your baby/babies? Do you have feelings that baby isn’t yours? I’m afraid I won’t be able to love this child. I asked my sister to be our donor. Unfortunately she refused. I thought that maybe it’ll be easier to take this situation if it’s eggs of my sis. She thinks it will be wrong if we rise her baby. Maybe she’s right… But what should I do now? I really need to talk to somebody about this. My mind is full of thoughts, doubts and questions. I feel like I’m going crazy( Another question is where is better to do this procedure? Will I be able to choose donor by myself? What about prices? I have no idea where to start. Moreover I’m not sure if I’m ready for this procedure. I hope you will help me to figure it out!

It makes me sad to see no replies... I'd love to talk to someone who used donor eggs. This forum is very helpful. I found so much information here. But it would be so nice just to talk about the process, to hear successful stories... Girls, please, share your experience with me. How do you feel about donor eggs? What thoughts do you have about it? There is no one I can talk with about de ivf. I hope to find someone who understands here.

I am not a patient, but I work at a center.

Lists of prospective donors are typically provided by the center or by an agency. The patient chooses the donor, almost like shopping on a website or in a catalog, usually looking for similar appearance along with desirable traits, like intelligence. In rare cases, the patient finds a donor on her own, such as a sister.

Studies have found children from donor cycles to be well-accepted by their parents. I don’t recall a study of children from a sister’s eggs, but I expect they are well-adjusted in most cases. That would depend on the individuals involved, of course.

In my experience, there is lots of room in the human heart. Parents quickly come to love their children from donor eggs, just as they love adopted children. Heck, we even love our pets. Love does not require a genetic link.

Anonymous egg donor cycles cost around 25K in the USA, and 60-75% of cycles will result in a live birth on the first transfer of a single embryo at a good center. If the first transfer fails or if you want more children, additional transfers of frozen embryos will cost around 4K. Most donor cycles have extra embryos to freeze. Other countries can offer lower prices, but the success rates tend to be lower, too.

Donor cycles using eggs from a sister will be cheaper.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Hello dear! You are the first one who responded to my thread. I was afraid no one will reply. I really need to know more info about this procedure. I’m little bit confused about it… I don’t want to involve relatives. So I’ll have to find donor somehow. Thank you again for your reply. It means a lot for me! Now I need to hear some success stories because sometimes I think there is no hope for me.

There are many success stories with donor eggs. Unfortunately, most actual patients who come to IVF message boards are looking forward to IVF, not backward. That means they have not yet had their successes. Once they have their babies, it seems they are too busy to post here anymore.

But donor cycles have the highest success rates of any type of IVF cycle.

Ukraine and Spain are popular for egg donation in Europe. They are inexpensive. There are no current or recent success rates available for Europe, as ESHRE is very slow at publishing them. The available success rates, from many years ago, were only fair by American standards.

The USA is relatively expensive, but the success rates are better.

Hii dear,
If you had decided to go for the donor egg process it is the best option for all the couples that are not able to conceive naturally. If your sister had refused for egg donation don't be depressed about it and don't force anyone for egg donation. For this, the donor should be prepared physically, mentally and emotionally. There are a number of clinics that are famous for egg donation. One of my friends has a child through the egg donation process. She had got it from the clinic in Ukraine that is famous as BiotexCom, they have a large number of egg donors with excellent background. If you want you can visit this clinic and it will be helpful for you.But before you go for it you should prepare yourself and don't think that child will not be yours.Afterall you are gonna carry that child for at least 9 months within you. So be positive and go for it.

Hi dear, how are you. It's just you thinking that. It's not the last way. You can always go for surrogacy and adoption as well. IVF is also a very good procedure. You can find donor at banks and all laboratories. Then it's a very simple procedure. I heard about it in the clinic in Ukraine. They are so good at these procedure.. Try them as well. You'll feel relaxed.

I would avoid IVF in the Ukraine due to dishonest practices. Shills have created numerous sock accounts on these boards, pretending to be patients but actually just deceptively advertising for the Ukraine. Many were easy to spot because they told contradictory stories. For example, two of them forgot how old they said they were. Another said she was late in her pregnancy, and then posted she was about to start IVF. Other signed their posts with the names of other sock accounts. And more.

I would avoid any centers that advertise so deceptively.

Hi there, hope you've already got some sensible and worthwhile suggestion on how to find a donor. In my opinion, it's best to go to a clinic that has their own pool of donors if you don't have someone in the family who can give you eggs. The in the family thing serves best if genetic linking is your concern - the baby might well share some common features with you as well. I had been through the extremely worrisome and stressful undecisive part of whether or not to for a DE. To be honest with you, I had the same emotional attachment concerns than my genetic link. Though my child isn't a DE one - but after have had gone through the gestation and childbirth (he is 18 months now) all I can say it - being a mother conquers it all. It doesn't matter if it's your own eggs, from surrogate or adopted the day you be a mother you bond with the child - eventually, it gets strengthened. Yes, there maybe exceptions and we easily get discouraged by them. Get inspired by success stories and stay optimistic. In DE you're still getting to have the gestation grow the baby in your womb and feel the whole motherhood - which will anyway help in bonding. As long as you don't feel the sting of "he doesn't share my genes" the child will not reciprocate it - that's for sure - to make that happen you've got to be the mother "the only mother". Shake off the what ifs and go for DE.

We planned on getting pregnant within three months of going off birth control. Every month, around testing time, I would either start my period or get in a hurry and take a pregnancy test before I started. Each month was more discouraging than the last. I remember estimating what my due date would be every time. I tracked my ovulation and temperature on an app I had on my phone. After six months of nothing, we decided to look for the solution in reproductive medicine. As I had such an intense desire to have children, my husband was determined to any options. So once I found the clinic and made an appointment we set off to Ukraine. As I read numerous positive comments on the internet. And all was wonderful. Great clinic, nice prices. I thought it was my last chance. And in case of failure, I will stop trying. But God blessed us with a baby. I was lucky to get pregnant after the second attempt. I advised that clinic to my friend from support group. And to all who is in the same situation as was I.

Avoid IVF and sorrogacy in Ukraine. Clinics there hire shills to post on this site under sock accounts posing as patients. Avoid any centers that advertise deceptively.

Hello dear! I hope you find this at your good. Fortunately, egg donors are not hard to find once you contact a clinic for this matter. Have you consulted your doctor in this regard? I believe that you need to contact a clinic for this matter, send them your medical history and your full medical report. There are different centers that provide egg donation to the patients. There are many women who have undergone this procedure. The finest clinic will provide the best donor match for you. It depends on which clinic you choose for this procedure. From my personal experience, I had low egg counts and the nature of my eggs wasn't good enough for fertilization. I was referred to IVF by my RE. Hopefully, it worked for me on the first attempt. I didn't need donor's egg for eggs retrieval. However in your case, if the doctor has recommended you to go through this procedure. Then you must research for the best clinics available for this procedure. Make sure they provide quality treatment and assurance of desired results. Clinics in Europe may be the best option for you as they provide quality at an affordable cost of the services they provide. I wish you all the best. Keep us updated xx

The well-know fact that the best IVF clinics are based in the US, and they are the most expensive. European clinics also get high success rates and offer excellent treatment at pocket-friendly prices, particularly IVF clinics in Czech Rep, Poland, Spain, Greece and Cyprus.
