Hi everyone. I want some suggestions. I live in the UK. I have been referred to a clinic for IVF. I am eligible for NHS funding. However, if I choose to avail that, then I need to wait for 6 months. Without funding I only need to wait for like a month. However, without the funding, it is way to expensive. The third option is to go abroad. I checked out some clinics in Europe. The waiting time is just 2-4 weeks for them. The cost is slightly more than what I would pay with NHS. However, much less than I would pay without. Now, which option should I go for? I really don't want to wait for so long.

You are up very early in the UK and posting around 0430. Is that right?

The wait times in Europe can be frustrating.

Spain is very popular for IVF tourism, and their clinics have good success rates. It’s also sunnier and warmer than the UK.

The US has even better success rates, on average, but is considerably more expensive.

Though no clinic can attend to you right away, however, the wait time matters. So definitely if you have an option that seems a little high on pay but will be able to get you on the process in around 4 weeks definitely go for it. It's important you consider how much time it will need for an attempt... both, you might need more than one as well as if it's not a donor aided process and your AMH is already low you're in a race against time. My friend had a surrogacy with Lotus Clinic and they did have a large pool of surrogates for themselves which was really helpful. Usually, people have to wait from around 6-8 months for the matching but with my friend, it was just screening their surrogates for the match and took only 3 weeks for finalising the surrogate. The whole process was done in around 13 month's time from the point of contact to the bringing back her twin infants home. Considering the months of wait with other clinics I'd say it was indeed a time-efficient clinic, which I think every clinic must try to add to their name.

I see you're confused with the decision of which one to opt for wait for go-abroad. I'd say go abroad. Because there's this clinic Adonis which have helped many women with assisted fertility procedure especially IVF. A friend of mine was told that she does not have an option other than DE+IVF. She failed 2 rounds with her clinic though... but then you know how hard it is at times to accept donor conception when you've had to put up with so much already on your fertility road. Thanks to Adonis in Ukraine they didn't have to have DE+IVF. They put her on some medication to improve egg quality, did embryo banking as her numbers were not very impressive and then proceeded with FETs. It worked, not on the first attempt though but I'm glad it did at least. They also have 2 viable embryos stored for the future. I just hope Adonis just work the same way for me and help me get my own baby.

IVF and surrogacy is incredibly cheap in Europe. We went to a Ukrainian agency. World center of baby. I suppose the reasoning was the same for us as well. As we could not afford it in the US. Which is a bummer. But turns out that Ukrainian fertility agencies are of the same level as in the US. Believe me or not. So you won't lose anything if you decide to go abroad.

Agreed with posters above. In Europe IVF is much cheaper than in the UK or in the US. Although US clinics have the highest success rates in the world. If you wish to undergo your treatment in Europe, I would recommend checking up clinics website or mail them to find out more about treatment options, age limits and prices.
