Hey ladies,
I keep worrying that you could be already giving birth as I write, but wanted to wish you both good luck and as good births as the pregnancies have been. Got lost checking for news on the other threads so I figured we are all waiting for your news so I could just as well start a new one!
Tracey, I keep imagining you still walking the dog and this inspires me to get some exercise, although I do wish you would limit the possibility of giving birth in the fields! :)
Helenlouise, I can imagine you get a bit scared that your waters would break while shopping, I had a thought like that the other day in the supermarket and I am only 29 w 2 days! I hope for you it takes a few more days - how far along are you now exactly?
you are both an inspiration to me to keep the twisn in as long as you did! and like everyone else I am so excited for you!
love,

Thanks Juliana for the post. I am 37 weeks tomorrow, although they do keep trying to say I am slightly more but I tell them that i know exactly when they were conceived!
I still feel absolutely fine and no twinges whatsoever. Me and everyone I know is amazed that I have got this far. Apart from the triedness I feel i could carry on for a few more weeks! But i really hope that they start off naturally some time next week, rather than going in to be induced on 3rd aug (by which time i'd be 38+2 weeks and the hospital policy is not to go beyond that with twins)
Went to see a friend's baby yesterday. He only weighs around 6lb at 4 weeks old, and as i held him i could not imagine that in a maximum of a week and a half now i'll be holding two!! It sounds so weird when my and DP sit at home in the evenings and say to each other 'I'm going to be a mum/dad!'
Sorry to babble on, but i'm sure everyone whos first baby/babies it is knows what i mean.

Good luck to you and everyone else. Will keep you posted.

helen :D

Thanks Juliana

Did an update so you can keep track - my other thread is a bit long - sorry! You are doing really well don't give yourself a hard time ok?

I am now 37.2 - yikes and had a scare last night but cervix still closed. Can't walk the dog and not sure if will do this week. They say will look at me on Thursday when 38 wks and if cervix not ripe and twins are fine then leave me - if not will induce. I reckon might carry on - it can be done.
Life is uncomfortable and like Helen I would rather not be induced - they tried a membrane sweep last night - not that pleasant but not at bad as thought and could not really do it properly as cervix still back.
Hang in there - you can do it honey
Love
Tracey

Hi

Just reading your posts.
Helen i know about the size thing i was asked alot about my dates in hospital, some people even midwifes don't really understand what happens at i.v.f, my health visitor asked if i could of had fell pg before my treatment.

A woman at the classes was induced the last time as she said it was great and hoping it would happen again this time.

I would recomend a section, but i had time to recover after mine as Duncan was in scbu.

Hi all

Just got back from midwife and measuring over 45cm fundus - all on my tiny little frame!!!

Everything fine - head still down and other transverse now and probably stay that way??!!!

She said if the cervix is closed on thursday they will do a sweep but not induce until open as bound to have to have a csection then.

Helen - must say despite the pain the csection is not the way to go really and baby/babies are better off with vaginal I reckon unless there is a problem - ask me that after the birth

Well, ate a whole pineapple last night and still nothing moving. Come on boys...only 2 more days before induction!

Tracey, did you feel any effect at all from the membrane sweeps you had?

Tracey and Helen,

Just checking in on the two of you to see how things are going (or not going from the sounds of it)! It must be some small comfort anyway that the two of you are going through the same things at the same time?

I wish you both the very best (and, Tracey, I must admit I am all for being as active as possible during pregnancy but even I am relieved to hear that you have stopped walking the dog at this point)!

Staci

only stopped dog walking at weekends - still doing it during the week and gathering blackberries at the same time - don't work for induction do they?

Helen - how strange you are due your induction before me yet you are due 3 days after. No luck with pineapple - dh went to get one FRiday from Tesco but had none so he got fresh melon and everything else but bloody pineapple and then though "oh will get a tin"
Tried sex and balti and hot bath yesterday and all it did was make me sore and give me heartburn last night so no sleep  They are taking the mickey these two! Have not got my hands on any raspberry leaf tea either.

Sue will keep you posted - now starting to brick it big time and have a urine infection so on anti biotics which normally give me thrush - deep joy.
Love to all

thought you had gone yesterday with no postings!!
I am now 38 weeks today and getting cross with my boys for not coming! I thought 1st August would be a nice birth date for them, so they better hurry up today!

Got a fan and slept with it 3 foot from my face all night-bliss.

Hi Tracey and Helen,
I am thinking about both of you. Helen,, it's good you got some sleep, the fan is agreat help in this weather. 3 August is also not a bad birthday date...
Tracey I cannot believe that you can still bend to pick blueberries! I did stick to my walk routine for last week and hope to continue...

We have now the boys of dp with us for 3 weeks and trying to adjust to our changed group dynamic as always. the boys are quite wonderful though, helpful and interested and wanted to come with us to look at the babies - have an appointment Monday but not sure if it includes an ultrasound...
We are trying to start on the baby room, it's really small and we have to move the beds of the bigger boys to the other room - quite an operation.
One question, there was a discussion about Avent bottles at some point which I do not remember well, so Tracey you might know - are they good or are they a disappointment? have to get some shopping done at this stage!
love to you both and take care,
juliana

Oh Trace, I've got some rasberry leaf tea, by the time I could get it posted to you though you'll have already been induced. Have you been trying to get some and failing? I think mine was from Holland and Barretts, or another health shop (that's actually not very helpful is it!?).

I only had one cup of the stuff at 10 pm on the Friday night, and by Saturday lunchtime had given birth.....ooh did I mention though that I'd actually been in labour though from about 7pm on the Friday! Look, my excuse is that I was still 10 days from my due date so just thought I was having braxton hicks  .

Well not long now chick, and if you do get thrush at least there'll be two sets of head and shoulders that will scratch your itch or most certainly take your mind off it. I usually get thrush too from antibiotics, but would you believe I used to think I was allergic to latex:oops: ....wish I was joking!

Take care,

Sue

Thanks for that message - twice  Only just tried to get any - well not tried myself as cannot be arsed to drive in to town quite frankly - hard enough driving down the road to the docs! DH tried but we did not go near holland and barret in Grantham so there you go - he did offer yesterday pm but was feeling crap so said no. Might ask if any of the neighbours are plodding in but soon be wed! You made me laugh about thrush.

Juliana - avent are great - all I know swear by them and I have AVENT everything. Plan on mixing and matching between breast, express and if nec formula - we got cow and gate in the end. Nikola says the DR BROWNS are good for colic but then added the teats go so quickly and the bottles cost a mortgage! I got loads of new AVENT bottles off ebay - have a look there - also got my breast pump there - medela one and the aVENT steriliser - had already got the microwave one from Boots with my points - how sad is that - used to buy makeup! 3 weeks with the boys - yikes long time. We have just had the girls - they have just got back form a week away and next weekend is Katherine's 6th birthday but no doubt I will be in hospital - OMG

Helen - can't believe we are so close - off to have my tin pineapple now - for all the good it will do - def given up on baltis and sex now! Hot bath - well too hot today for that!

Love to all
