Is there any limit to how many times you can attempt

Hi there. I am 36 years old. I have been seeking treatment for infertility. I am currently going for IVF. I got the results for the first attempt yesterday. It was a negative. We had pretty much expected this. So, we aren't that worried. We have applied for the second attempt. I hope we will be luckier this time. However, I was wondering something. Is there any limit to how many times you can attempt conception through IVF? What if we run out of tries? Please guide me on the matter. Thanks.

Hi I am sorry to know yr IVF failed. You can undergone any times you want or can afford. Myself I know ladies who had 5-7 IVF-s, and finally got pregnant. If a woman experiences more than 2 failed IVF-s (depends on a doc and/or clinic) a fertility specialist might advise to do additional tests to dig deeper. A woman might also advised to consider IVF with additional procedures (PGS NGS, PGD) or IVF DE. Good luck

Some countries have limits to how many cycles are covered by public insurance. In most of Europe, that limit is around 4 cycles, or so I have heard. Some insurance companies in the USA have limits, too. And some centers have limits because they do not want to hurt their success rates.

If you exceed the limit, you can usually cycle again, but the costs will all be on you. At that point, you might consider shopping for the best success rates for the money. Many Europeans opt for egg donor cycles in Spain or the USA.

As you are facing this condition, One of my friends had the 4 failed cycles of IVF but she didn't lose her hope and she had tried for next attempt.Then she decided to switch her clinic which has more success rates.She did search for it and go through many forums.Then She had visited the clinic which is in Ukraine and famous as BiotexCom.She told her about the failed cycles and ask the doctor what is the reason behind the failure.After all needed tests and he told her that is happened due to some health issue.Then he advised some medications to healed her health conditions.After she preparing herself she got the IVF and this time she got success.So, If you want to know how many attempts you can get IVF after failure, it depends on your health condition and how much cost you can afford.Don't be stressed in case of failure.Try to think with postivity as much as possible.All things will be fine.

I would avoid Ukrainian clinics for ethical reasons. I would avoid any clinics that advertise deceptively.

I'm so sorry to hear about your failed IVF attempt - a lot of women don't succeed in the first round - I happen to be one of them as well. It's only wise that you go for a second round - if there's success that's on moving ahead and not getting stuck. Usually, you can have as many numbers of repeats as long as your vitals permit. Oh, and as long as you can afford it - because I think you'll have to switch to self-financed IVF after a limited attempts that's covered by your health insurance. After every round when you begin egg extraction they will run the full range of diagnosis so you don't need to worry. Even if you go for DE there will be a prep stage for you before they transfer the embryo. I had my baby on this December only through IVF second round (4th FET) - have two more frosties in case I want a sibling for my baby in some years. As far as the success goes, I've heard it improves over each round. I met a woman during my follow-ups tests who was having a twin and she had it over natural TTC while on a break from IVF after the first 2 failed. Wish you good luck for your fertility road ahead!

It totally depends on your patience, hope and funds. Honestly, I don't think anyone really wants to give up on hope but then it's the fund that becomes a constraint. I guess the reproductive tourism it a great respite to people who are willing to continue but too tired to meet the ends. Thanks to clinics like Adonis in Ukraine for helping out the women in desperate need of having a baby and experience the motherhood. A friend of mine found it and helped me too with getting in contact with them so I can start my IVF next year. Her old clinic having failed at 2 IVF attempts recommended DE+IVF the only way, but she was reluctant about it. I guess it's natural to question donor conception for anyone who've fought hard all the way but then Adonis was like a God-sent angel to her. I hope you find luck in your fertility road if you haven't already.

Yeah, there's no guarantee that the first attempt will be successful. Neither there is any fixed number of tries predefined that'll guarantee success. So you're right as long as the allowances last and one is determined not to give up it's okay to carry one. For boosting hope I guess success stories does just fine, especially knowing women have succeeded it feels like we too can. For ensuring the success there are clinics like Adonis in Ukraine that helped my friend in having a baby. Especially the cost wise they are a huge relief, cause if there's a yes that lies in trying and not giving up. I would recommend anyone to try and contact Adonis in Ukraine if they want to be the mom and get their baby dreams fulfilled... they can make the impossible possible.

Usually, it is 4-5 attempts before you can start considering surrogacy or adoption. WCOB told me that 4-5 failed IVFs is one of the most common reasons why people turn to surrogacy. Also, going for more than 5 attempts can damage your health. It is dangerous and is going to be less effective with each round.
