Hello fellow fertility warriors....
my friend knows someone who had 17 cycles of IVF and I think that has got to be the record unless YOU know different? Don't know how many of these cycles (if any) were abandoned or how many were FET v fresh - but I think you'll agree its a huge amount.
Happily to say this person had 2 babies from these 17 cycles. She was one hell of a determined woman.....
What's the maximum number you'd be prepared to go through? Before my baby died I'd have said I'd do 3 cycles max. Now I know, having been so close, that I'm in it for the long haul. (Hopefully a lot lot less than 17 though!)

Wow 17 cycles - you're right she really was determined - great that she got 2 babies from it.
We have done 2 cycles so far and have just started number 3. I hope we will find the strength to keep going until either the consultants advise us to stop or we run out of money!
I hope it doesn't take 17 goes though!

Phew 17! Di on this board took 10 or 11 to get one baby and she is just thrilled with her little one as you can imagine!
I think it is a hard call - bit like gambling - some of us get addicted. I was more and more determined to not let it beat me but then only took 5 - with enormous heartbreak along the way.
Most people sort themselves out by 4 and then the majority by 5 - that leaves a few more trying for a few more.

ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!
