Post by loopylou57uk »

hello,i just wondered if anyone has been in the same situation as me, and then been succesful as i just feel there is no hope for me now.
first ivf chemical preg-hcg only 14.
second ivf hcg 40,but lasted only 5 days after 2ww.
third ivf hcg 104, but lasted only days after 2ww.
there is obviously a problem with keeping the embies in there,i am waiting for follow up app,and i hope to be able to have some tests before 4th ivf,
if any of you girls have had anything similar i would love to here from you.
thankyou
love loopy.

Loopy, I feel like I'm going through the same thing now, don't know how you did it three times, I'm going crazy.

Have you talked to your RE about testing the embryo before transfer? I've heard that sometimes the woman's body rejects the embryo after implantation and that they can avoid this by genetic testing. Not many clinics do it though.
Good luck!!
Me - 35 Unexplained DH 37
TTC#1 since '97
5 IUIs
1st IVF 5/04 - transferred 2-neg
2nd IVF 7/04 - transferred 3-pos but MC at 8 wks.

Loopy,

Oh, you poor thing. How horrible to have this happen three times! I had a similar experience with my first IVF in June and if my upcoming FET goes the same way, I'm not sure I can go on.

Do you have tubal damage, and if so, have the tubes been removed? My clinic recommended this for me to avoid miscarriage. I also take thyroid medication, so they have to monitor that too, to make sure the levels don't get to off, as they can during PG.

But I think the most common cause is hormone imbalance (who wouldn't have that after IVF) or chromosomal abnormalities.

It helped me to remember that women who get PG naturally often have this happen - it is just harder having gone through what we have. My friend had many MCs before having a healthy little boy two years ago.

It is great news that you seem to get PG so easily. Very promising for a positive result if you do decide to persue it, my clinic says.

Loopy,

So sorry to hear this-I had a HCG of 14 the first time I tested on my first ivf, which rose to 30 something the second time I tested. I like that the nurse called it a very early miscarriage rather than a chemical pg, because that is what it is for me. when I talked to the nurse she said it is a very positive thing to have this for future pg, but it must be so hard to have to go through it three times! Next cycle I am going to take a 1/2 aspirin daily during stimm. as my nurse said it would be OK fo rme to do so. Helps with implantation, latest stats prove! Check with your clinic first if you decide to. Like Alicia said, most likely chromosomal defect, but since it happened 3x I would expect that they should help you iwht any further tests that can be done, for ex. the one Hope suggests. good luck!! Let us know what you find out, please.

Love, eacole

Hi Loopy - Just read your note. I am about to go thru my 3rd ivf. they testest me for entegron. which is the sticky stuff in your uterus. It is called Omega 3 protein or Entegron protein. I found out that I was negitive and did not produce this protein. they put me on lupron deprot injections once a month for a total of 3 months and it was suppose to help my body to develope this protein again. I am suppose to re-test to see if it worked. Maybe this will help. It is a very newly developed test and some docs don't use it but maybe it is worth mentioning? Good luck
11/03 1st IVF Neg.
Went on Lupron Depot 3 mo.
05/04 IUI Neg.
07/04 IVF Neg.
Thinking of changing Doc.

Hi Loopy - just wanted to say Hi. Yes it feels like crap at times doesn't it? You know you can't give up hope yet. Tracey S makes a great role model, with her 5th time lucky. She must have felt so low (esp. after losing Oliver) but look at her now. Who could be happier?

Having said all that, I don't feel I can apply the same logic to myself. I'm not thinking about our next/final try yet and am fed up of being obsessed by the subject. I think I'm almost preparing myself for a negative which is hardly the way to start.

Take care,
love
Debra

Hi Loopy

I had the same thing as you 2 chemical pregnancies all over by 6 weeks. Then they did a test which showed I had a high level of killer cells and gave me an immunoglobulin infusion . Thi was obviously my problem as the next time was positive!!!! The test cost £800 and they took 20 tubes of blood I nearly passed out!!! but I am convinced in my case it was worth it.

hihi loopy, im so sorry to ready your post, it must be very tough for you,
i went to the lister for my 4th icis attempt and was tested for NK cells
(killer cells that reject the embie) it was a simple blood test, and it
turned out i was border line, so i was given a course of steroids to take
after et, i did get me longed for positive and continued with the steroids
till 12 wks.
Even if u are not with the lister u can still arrange for a blood test there and if
u are high they will give u a written protocol, cant remember how much
the blood test was but it wasnt that expensive, but maybe worth looking

I am sorry that you have had results like this I am not sure wether or not its good that you actually get PG and loose or not at all like me !!! I hope it is something really tiny for you and that it can be fixed , I have had lots of implantation tests , they cost £575 but I got my doctor to do them so for once I actually got something for free , if you want to know the name of all the test I will look them up for you , they basically tested me for blood clotting , cromozone s , TSH , Lupas etc etc
I have my follow up on the 2nd September and am wandering if sperm weekness may make the embies not strong enough cause my eggs seem to be ok even though I only had 4 , but as I have now had 2 x donor cycles and it still hasnt worked WHY WHY WHY , it is so fustrating not knowing isnt it , I too am going on holiday to Mexico 5* luxury Spa and no children allowd on the complex so I dont have to see loving families everywhere!!!!
anyway enough of me rambling , let me know about the test and I will write them down for you

4th cycle unknown donor eggs Neg

 Oh Loopy,

I have not posted for a while and I am so sorry to hear about your sad news. I have been through the same thing and most of the time there are no real answers. I know this does not help but as you know I am waiting for my 3rd attempt so I guess we keep going and face whatever there is to come and hope that one day our dearest wishes wil be granted. i have tears in my heart for you and I hope that you will recover soon. I have been thinking of you and decided to post as soon as I was aware. I know it's hard but keep your chin up.

Loads of love and huge hugs for you.
