Woking Nuffield Hospital/Egg Sharing

Post by Nickie88 »

Hiya ladies

Well I feel very positive today .... after a couple of days of DP and myself feeling quite low, we have decided not to wait for NHS next year and I am now going to Share my eggs and change hospitals from Lister to Woking Nuffield. Does anyone have any experience with them?? Also has anyone already completed Egg Share and have any thoughts or feelings about it?

Love to you all
Nickie

Hi,

I shared my eggs at a different clinic and it was well worth it, not just financially. We were going ahead with a cycle whether or not any one wanted my eggs (it was getting close to xmas, so some people didn't want to start tmt) then a recipient was found. I was very lucky because i produced 24 eggs, so we got 12 each. I think the cut off is something like, if you produce less than 7 you keep them all, any over 7 and you share equally (hospitals probably have different policies)
It saved us quite a bit of money, but also i am pleased that maybe i have helped someone have a baby. They made me see a councellor before hand too.

Good luck with it.
Helen

Nickie,
We have changed hospitals we were at The Woking Nuffield and have just changed to The Lister Hospital. How strange is that?Anyway the reason we have changed is that we have had 6 attempts in total at Woking Nuffield 3 frozen and 3 full ivfs all negatives but saying that there success rates are good but it just didn't work out for us there. The main reason is that they didn't look in to why the treatment wasn't working for us and we were more or less told that it was just one of those things and there isn't as we all know any guarantee it will work. Also when we asked for tests to be done to see if there was any problems we were told there was no point. The good points of the Nuffield are the nurses were very nice and helpful and it is no where near as busy as the Lister hospital and there is free parking.I would recommend the Woking Nuffield it just didn't happen for us there and we are only going to have 2 more attempts at ivf and have decided that we need to get every test done that we can and are going to have Genetic Screening and Woking Nuffield doesn't offer that service or the tests that we wanted to have done.I do prefer Woking Nuffield to Lister Hospital and if all the tests and Genetic Screening comes back clear i would probably go back to Woking Nuffield for our last attempt.I hope that helps in some way but if there is anything at all you want to know then please just ask.
Good Luck,
Nicky
