Not feeling pregnant

Hi Ladies -- I need some words of encouragement to offer my friend Shari who is going through IVF. She's 2ww and tests on Friday August 13th. She called and left a panic/tearful message that she does not feel pregnant. She says her boobs no longer feel swollen and she feels back to normal. I want to tell her I didn't know I was preggo for 2 months and didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. Somehow I don't think it will help. I just don't know if women going through ivf are more in-tune and can feel when they are pregnant. I'm sure she's just having 2ww worries, but she swears she new the minute it didn't work last time... and says she feels the same way now. I feel so sad. So what should I say??

I've never been pregnant but have seen many girls on these boards go thru the 2ww and get BFPs. The truth is, everyone's symptoms are different .... some with sore boobs, sore tummy's etc ..... and some don't have any symptoms at all !

I know the 2ww is dreadful, and it plays tricks to the mind. Shari is feeling negative, that's all ... she doesn't know that she's not pregnant. I'm afraid there's nothing she can do to speed things up, and she mustn't, I repeat musn't, do any home tests before 13th. As we've all seen, they are just evil and inaccurate.

All fingers crossed for 13th.

Hello, I echo Sand's comments.

Each pregnancy is different and starting with ivf vs. regular conception only hightens our expectations of somehow 'feeling pg'. I've had 4 x 2wws and not felt any different regardless of if I got a + or a - at the end. No nausea, no sore boobs, no nothing. Sorry to say, she'll just have to sit it out. It is the longest fortnight ever.

She's very lucky to have such a caring friend though.

I really wish she would come here for support. I've told her how compassionate everyone is.
For some reason she said she just can't do it right now.

BFP would be Big Fat Positive. I also did not feel PG when I had my IVF. It was very disappointing. But I was, at least for a couple of weeks.

It is common not to have symptoms, and for me, as the hormones wore off, I actually felt LESS like something was happening. The 2ww is cruel. I think this board is most helpful at times like that. But so is having good friends like you - your friend is very lucky.

I felt the best and most normal during my 2WW, didn't feel PG, didn't feel a darn thing. Tell your friend not to do HPTs...they only make you crazy. I did one the day before my BFP and it was negative..so it put me into a rotten mood for 2 days for nothing.
I'm also in the Chicagoland area. Hope everything goes well for Shari, it sucks to just wait.
