Hello Ladies,

Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Sorry to disappoint you all but AF arrived today so I didn't get to test. It's the first time that AF has been on time in my whole life. Blooming typical.

Was a bit fed up about it but to be honest I was kind of expecting it not to work. Had all the usual pre-menstrual symptoms. Every month I try to convince myself that the pre-menstrual symptoms are pregnancy symptoms but deep down I know that they aren't.

Anyway, as I'm trying IUI at the moment, I can try again next month hopefully. I go to the clinic for a scan tomorrow and if there are no cysts lurking around then they should let me do IUI again this cycle.

I'm not sure whether I'm wasting my time on IUI and if it doesn't work this time I might go back and try IVF again. What do people reckon?

Good luck to all those still to test in August. The law of averages says that we should have some positives.
Who's up next? Is it Shari? Best of luck Shari. Let us know how she gets on Kelly.

I am so sorry to hear you news.I think you sound as if you are being really strong and positive. Now is the time to spoil yourself pamper yourself and shop in order to get you ready for next time. I always wish there was something to say at these times but from experience I know nothing helps.

Barny,

Sorry to hear your tmt did not work out this time. I'm not that familiar with IUI, so can't advise whether it is worthwhile to persue it. Our only choice was IVF, but I would love to have had a softer option that did not involve injections, the cost and all the doctor visits.

So I guess if I was under 40 and had IUI as an option, I would want to exhaust that first. But it sure is hard to wait and feel like you can't plan anything. Buying a house, car, making vacation plans all become so hard when you don't know if you'll have a baby to consider or not.

Good luck to you. Maybe we'll be cycle buddies again soon!

Thanks for the messgaes.

It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one going through all this and that there are some people out there who truly understand.

Went back to to the clinic today and got the go ahead to do another IUI this cycle. As I only had one follicle last time they've increased the dose of my medication. Unfortunately, I don't get away without any injections Alicia! Wish I did. You still have to have some with IUI but not as many as with IVF. The whole IUI process is less intense than IVF, which is one of the reasons we thought we'd give it a shot.

So I should be on the list of testers again for next month.

Barny,

I am so sorry about your -ive. I am glad you got the go ahead to try again this next cycle.

Just keep thinking positive thoughts! I will be thinking great baby thoughts for you!

Have you thought of doing acupuncture? It is recommended by my clinic for ivf patients, I wonder if it might be beneficial for you as well! I have my fingers crossed for you!!
