HCG Levels

Post by Paige »

Hi Everyone:

Last Friday I got a BFP! My HCG level was 154. I went back yesterday (Monday) and my HCG level was 724...higher than they expected. Can anyone who got pregnant with twins compare numbers with me? It seems high!

Hi Paige....I guess the hcg depends upon what kind of transfer did you do...For example, was it a five day or three day transfer? How many days after the transfer did you have bloodwork done? Back in March I completed a FET and was trying to figure out what the numbers meant. My first bloodwork was 233 which was 11 days after a 3 day transfer. Two days later it was 461. My doctor expected twins with those numbers...and at the first ultrasound there were triplets. Four were transferred, two took and one split which resulted in the triplets with a set of identicals. Sadly we lost a triplet around 8 weeks, and I am now thankfully in my 22 week with identical girls. Good luck!!! I will be thinking about you!

Denise:

I had 3 embryos transferred on day 3. The first Blood test (154) was 11 days after the transfer, so the second blood test (724) was 14 days after transfer. Any insight would help!

Thanks,

Paige..the numbers look great! Perhaps twins???? When do you go for your first scan? The numbers should double every 48 hours, I believe, and yours did more than that - so that is a good sign.

Good luck,

Thanks! I go Friday for my first scan...I hope they can see what is going on. How soon were you able to know what had implanted? Week 5 seems pretty early, but I'm dying to know!

The scan went fine. They saw one for sure and possibly another but they're not sure and will do it again next Friday. My retroverted uterus is hard to view I guess. She did see a yolk? So she sounded very positive. Am developing an allergic reaction to the projesterone injections so am itching out of my skin, as they won't put me on the suppositories until they see a heart beat. They said they might be able to see the heartbeat next Fri, so fingers and toes are crossed.

There is a really good website where you can compare beta levels with singleton and multiple pregnancies.

Link is www.betabase.info
