Hi, girls!
Brilliant to know how you're all doing. Don't know what I'd do without this board and all your sharing and support. Hope my embies are nice and comfortable now. Come on, get fastened in tight and divide lots and lots!!

Chubbs - congratulations on your fertilisation! Was really feeling for you when I read your first message and then saw that you had success. Keeping my fingers crossed - keep us up to date x

Candy- 10 eggs, wow! And 4 fertilised! Well done. My hospital only does a 2 or 3 day transfer, didn't even know it could be longer in between til I found this site. I think they said they prefer the embies to be in their natural environment? Was a bit groggy when I asked so may just be talking rubbish :!: I don't think the doctors can assess the quality of your eggs until they become fertilised? Then can see how the cells divide and the embryo progresses. Fragmentation can occur so only at the more advanced stage can you see if it will be an embryo. They will have a much better idea by monday. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be fine. Let us know x

Sandra - thanks ever so much for the continuous support and well wishes. How are things going with you? I'm amazed by how much you keep up with everyone, you must be a very intelligent and thoughtful person x

Good luck to all, sorry only a quickie. Day 2 of the 2ww and I can't sit still! Already deen thinking about an hpt but too early after hcg????? I know, I know, completely mad. STUUUUPID!!!!!! Thinking of you all. See you again tomorow, for as long as I can sit in one place......
love and hugs, Jeanie xxxxxxx

Hi Alicia - sorry, how could I have missed your message off. We are testing the same day :!: So hope we both get BFPs. So, we're sharing this cloud of self absorbtion, glad to hear I'm not the only one. Hard to think about what other people are saying, unless it's really meaningful or particularly amazing, of course! Will you be doing the test at home as well or going to the hospital? Anyway, all the best in your madness, keep in touch x

Candy,

Congratulations on your eggs fertilizing on the first go. Sometimes they try exposing them again just to see if any more will fertilize. I don't think they grade them until the last day before transfer, since they have to divide a few times first.

Chubbs,

It is so hard waiting for the phone calls throughout this process, isn't it? Will they re-attempt ICSI for the remaining eggs? I don't know much about how it works, but for my IVF they tried again the next day and a couple more fertilized.

Jeanie,

I think my test date has moved to the 30th, as I just got the LH surge this afternoon. That should make ET be on Thursday, Aug 19. REALLY happy about that, since I won't miss the first day of fashion design school on Wednesday. My clinic does not allow hpts at all. The test is a blood test in their lab. But BLAST!! Those ovulation kits I've been taking come with hpts. One free with every 7 ov kits. What will I do?

Good luck everyone on the 2ww. Hope to join you soon.

Alicia, thanks for giving me hope that maybe we wil get a few more embies! Good luck with your ec & transfer.

I'm getting a little worried because I am still pretty sore from the ec 2 days ago and I go tomorrow for the transfer. My clinic never mentioned giving valium or any other drugs so I am worried that this is going to be really uncomfortable. Does anyone have any experience beign sore during the transfer. Any suggestions on what I should do?
Good luck to everyone!

Hello girls! My, this is getting to be a big message board now isn't it. Feel so lucky to have so many of us and such a lovely, caring group.

Alicia - shame about your delayed date, but it's best to do it at exactly the right time. I thought you had had the ET already? Maybe our dates were the same as you have to wait for 17 days afterwards at my hospital. As I was a 3 day transfer and not 2, I'm lucky to have only 16 days! So now I really am on the 2ww. Extra torure. So, do you have to measure your own ovulation levels, ie the kits? Hope it goes smoothly for you, enjoy the sedation!

Ang - cheers for the well wishes. I do think twinges are common - I've had them on and off all the way through, even now my embies are in. Do ask the nurse though if you get them a lot as you have to be careful with OHSS. We should expect some discomfort but not a lot of pain. The night before my ET I felt like I was going to burst and had a bit of a panic attack - best thing is to try and stay calm. I tell you, after my EC it was such a relief. Don't wish to be crude, but I felt like weeks of gas had been set free! Have been constantly bloated though, or maybe that's all the comfort chocolate I've been eating? Hope you get lots of lovely big follies, but don't feel too bloated!

Tracy - wishing you 'bon vacances'. You deserve a holiday - don't worry about the money, think of it as an essential part of rehabilitation after all you've been through. Drink, dance and let your hair down!!! : :P When do you go? Good luck with your meeting on 2nd sept.

Candy - just to help ease your worry about the transfer. I hardly felt a thing, the tube is so narrow, it's just like a tickling sensation inside. The doctor had to use 3 on me as well as they just wouldn't go in and I didn't even know this till after! It was more embarrasing than painful but me and DH had 2 screens to watch, one showing the embies and the other inside my stomach. I found it a fascinating experience. Better than being at the cinema! Had a bit of a sore tum next day but ok today. Let us know how it goes.

Well, that's me done again for today. Lots of super strong PMA for us all. Take care all. love Jeanie

Jeanie,

Yes, I have to monitor my own LH levels. I was really worried about missing it, but it was actually very clear, thank goodness. ET should be Thursday.

I just counted, and I think the 2ww is only 11 days at my clinic. I hadn't realized there were such variations in timing. So sorry for all of you who actually have to wait 2w and more! It must be torture! No wonder you girls are always wanting to do the hpts.

Candy,

ET is really fun, relative to EC. They let us look at the embies and DH was in the room with me. It did not hurt at all. Then a day of lounging in front of the TV with books and magazines and DH cooking for me while the embies settled in. It's one time in life that you really are pregnant, even if for only a few days/weeks as in my last IVF  It's definately my favorite time in the tmt.

Traci,

Nice to see you again! I agree that you always belong. Enjoy the vacation and I hope you get some answers at your followup appt. Maybe we'll be cycle buddies in the future.

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on for several days as we had a huge hurricane here in Florida Friday night and have just now gotten back power after a very long uncomfortable weekend. I have never been so happy as I was when our lights finally went back on tonight....not to mention the air conditioning which is rather essential here! Actually, I do feel very fortunate as the winds were so strong that we had 3 very large trees in our yard pulled right out of the ground by the roots and one of them missed hitting our house by a matter of inches. One of our neighbors had a tree fall right through his roof into his living room. Many areas around us are complete disaster zones and many people probably won't have power back for another week. Anyway, I am now very happy that my cycle ended up getting canceled because, had things gone the way they were supposed to, my transfer would have ended up being right around this time and that would not have been very relaxing considering that we do not have any groceries, very little clean laundry and our house is a complete mess.

I need to do some reading to catch up!

Traci,

A thread for those of us in between treatments is a great idea! I'm having the same problem. I really need the support of this board but feel kind of like I don't belong anywhere since I probably won't be attempting my FET until Nov./Dec. now.

Still hanging onto the ACB - One embi in situ, what a relief. Trying to be positive. Had a good chat with the Dr and Embryologist and the embi was grade one and they undertook assisted hatching. The other four didn't do much. The Dr told me that my response to the stims was fine and not to worry as I produced 5 mature eggs that were ICSI - able which has raised my hopes.
Staci - glad you are OK though it sounds horrific what has happened.
Candy I hope you had a good ET today.
Hope alls well with the Stimmers and good luck tomorrow for the two week testers and those waiting to test
Thanks for all your support :D
