Shannon

Try not to worry (I know easier said than done), I think symptoms fluctuate from day to day.

When I had my 2nd blood test on Friday I was told it was not an exact science and sometimes people were a wee bit slower. You nearly doubled 295 is not that short of 350.

Have you had a look at some the websites about HCG readings, I was looking at one this morning that seemed quite good www.betabase.info that one of the girls recommended on Paiges HCG thread.

Let us know how you get on.

Shannon:

Shannon: It is very close to doubling as Wendy said. When will they do your next blood test? I'll be thinking of you until we hear something.

Everyone who has welcomed us over the the BFP side thank you sooo much. I do have a question for you. Did a lot of you start out heavier because of all of the drugs? I'm going out to buy bigger clothing at 6 weeks! With my first I wasn't into maternity clothes until almost 4 months! My bra size has gone from C to D and I'm almost out of the D's. What in gods name is going on? I have started getting on the treadmill 3-4 times a week (only walking on an incline) just to make sure I'm doing what I can. But still humongous.

BTW, I will beg my Dr. on Tues for the suppositories, literally... I will beg.

Tanya: I get very tired around 3:00 in the afternoon. I find that just laying low for 30-45 minutes helps tremendously. Though when I was not PG I was tired around this time in the afternoon too! I'm very anemic so my whole life is tired :)

Hi Shannon

Try to take it easy over the weekend and not to worry too much. As everyone has said it almost doubled. We're all thinking about you and have our fingers and toes crossed for you.

Thanks Debra... I will have a read of the packet to see if it says anything about the best time to use crinone. I'm sure my doctor did say to use it before bed... but I'm convinced that my brain has already shrunk to the size of a pea!!!

Wendy, I also remember something about Brazil nuts being very good to immunise babies against asthma and eczema.

Thinking about you all. Take care,
Tanya x

Hi girls,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the words of encouragement. You know, it isn't the hcg level that has me so concerned. It is the hcg level combined with the sudden loss of symptoms. It is driving me nuts. I can't sleep -- it is 2am here in Denver and I have been tossing and turning all night long! I swear my boobs have gotten smaller even in the last two hours and they are no longer tender -- and the were huge and very very tender. I am also no longer nauseous. Those are the things that really have me concerned. I don't know if I would be as concerned about the loss of symptoms had my hcg been higher. It was exactly 66% higher, my first blood test was on Thursday morning and the next was Saturday morning, so 48 hours between tests. I don't know, when the nurse called, I just had this "feeling" that something wasn't quite right, and when she said that I need to go back on Monday -- I just had flashbacks of all the other times (I have had 2 ectopics and 1 miscarriage). Sorry to go on and on. And I am not really sure if I should be posting here or on the general forum -- but I figure since all of you have BFPs, wondering if you have had any loss of symptoms. Some websites say it is indicative of miscarriage, others say perfectly normal. Hard to know which one to believe!

Thanks for listening!

HI there
Shannon - just wanted to add to what everyone else has already said....dont worry too much about the pregnancy hormone levels. I got SO obsessed by them I have mine done every few days for the first few weeks -and even made a spreadsheet to track it................WHAT a NUTTER!!!!! But I do know how you are feeling! Really dont worry though - it goes up in hikes, so if they had done the test a couple of hours later it may has come back at MORE than double the previous one!.....its gone up and pretty much exactly how its meant to - so PLEASE try and chill!!

Also don't worry about the symptoms - alot of the girls on here will testify that they come and go and have an excellent habit of going just when you want them around to confirm everythings okay. At your stage and had DAYS when I just felt not pregnant at all.....infact I still do (just fat now!! :-))

Try not to worry too much about the weight gain and the boobs growing. I really dont know that theres a whole lot you can do about it. I think its in your genes ....like getting stretch marks or not. Just eat what and when you feel like it. I really do think that mother nature takes over on this one.

As a guide(and I'm sure you already know this) The books here tend to say you put on a few pounds in the first 3 month and then a pound a week after. I didn't really put on in the first 12 weeks (felt v sick almost ALL the time!!)- but in week 12 suddenly exploded and have been growing very quickly every week.....and my boobs are also MASSIVE!! Which makes elegant dressing totally impossible, I just look like a big pudding!! :-)

As far as exercising is concerned - am not an expert - but I have felt MUCH better for doing it. Didn't do much for the first 2 months and then swam and cross trained a bit ....now am back to doing the odd spin class and a few weights. I think you just have to do whatever feels right. (and doing all this hasn't stopped my blobbing out anyway!! as I say I think its in the genes!)

Anyway - take care all!!

Hi Everyone

Shannon, my symptoms come and go, have felt much better over the weekend probably because I could have long lies and didn't have to go to work. A lot of the stuff I've been reading says that its not unusual not to have any symptoms at all at this stage. Did you have a look at that website?

Tanya, hows the sicky feeling? Thanks for the tip about the Brazil nuts, I love them and Martin has eczema and asthma so if I can eat things I like while gaurding her, him or them from inheriting either of them then that will be great.

My appetite has gone a bit, feel like I am always eating but haven't actually felt hungry in ages and have totally gone off sweet things.

Paige, I've put on about 5 pounds since I started the treatment, my bras still fit but feel fuller and some of my tops are just uncomfy. I've certainly filled out round the belly as my jeans are also uncomfy.

I haven't been doing any exercise since the treatment, was doing aquafit before, I plan to start swimming again but not for a wee bit. Still doing plenty of walking so that will do for now. I have to say I am looking forward to looking pregnant.

Thanks to you more experienced ladies for keeping us sane.

Speak to you all later

Hi guys
Just want to say welcome to you all its so nice to have some newbies on here.
Shannon dont worry too much about teh levels but I know thats hard as we had to go through the same when we tested we had to have a blood test doen teh week after we got a postive and they wanted them to be 1000 but they werent so we were told we would have to re-test in two days times to see if teh levels had risen or dropped the wait was terrible but luckly my levels were ok and teh nurse said if we'd had took the blood abit later your levels would have been fine so try not to worry as tehy might have took your blood too early, also I have never had any sickness and didnt have really sore boobs all the time the syptoms coem and go I'm afraid the only differnece with me was blue veins on my boobs from day 1.
Hope everyone else is ok and dont worry too much about weight gain as Caz as said we will put on what we put on and as long as I get a healthy baby at teh end who cares,Its so nice after being on a diet for years to have what I bloody well want

Hi girls, thanks again! I don't know what I would do without all of you! DH can only be sweet and supportive so much before he just no longer understands my obsessing! I keep walking up to him and making him feel my boobs to see if they seem smaller to him! I know it is driving him nuts, but I can't help it. A girlfriend told me I should measure them with a tape measurer so that way I will really know! I told her I am not quite that nuts (but the only reason I didn't is because I can't find a tape measure!)

Wendy -- when you say your symptoms come and go -- have you noticed a difference in breast tenderness on certain days? I have read alot that often no symptoms are not noticeable at this stage, I just had them soooooo strongly last week! I keep boob bashing just to make sure that they are still a little tender!

The doc says an hcg of 600 tomorrow will "get us out of the woods" and no longer be a cause for concern! I have my fingers crossed!

Thanks for listening everyone! I really appreciate you all!

Love,
Shannon and Scott

Dear Shannon,
Im a very infrequent poster on here ( will be 23 weeks tomorrow) but I just had to say that I too had huge symptom fluctuations, especially with breast pain. Achey and swollen breasts ones day and then nothing the next and I too paniced big style on numerous occasions. I think having had such a struggle getting to this point ( loads of ivf) and with past mc experience ( early ones in my case) its just a recipe for complete paranoia!! Any way Im still here despite being convinced that it was going pear shaped almost every day for about 10 weeks ( positive thinking isnt my strong point) Now I only get the wobbles a couple of times a week and can on occasion convince my self that its actually going to happen. Will be keeping everything crossed for you
love Annie
Ps I also notice that approaching a scan or blood test symotoms vanished until the reassurance of a good result and then they reappear when I relaxed afterwards. Perhaps that burst of adrenaline that you get with sheer terror temporarily numbs your body to aches and pains...... another one of my unscientific theories I came up with to stop me climbing the walls!!

Good day Ladies,
I am so happ to see that this thread has begun. I was thinking of starting one last friday, but decided to take the day off work :D
Well, I had my first IVM (natural IVF cycle) in June/July and got a positve HCG 391 on July 15 !! I went in for my first scan at 6 weeks, we saw one baby with one slow heart beat. We were asked to return at 7 weeks to make sure things were progressing.. At 7 weeks we return to find out everything is PERFECT !!!! Nice strong HB we got our first picture of our baby!! We were asked to return at 9 weeks, and OMG I was amazed to see what I saw, A real looking human baby, a head, 2 arm buds, a yummy butt, and 2 feet buds !!!! And of course I got another picture !!
My last scan is next week at 11 weeks, and then they discharge me to my gyno. !!!
Anyway, I want to go read all your messages, I shall chat with you all soon !!

Take care

Shannon.....just to say I AM that mad person who did measure my boobs!!!!!!!!! And let me tell they were all over the place, basically the grew and grew but on a day to day basis they total fluctuate. Remember you have got some mega hormones in there - na dI just think on some days you body copes with it better than other days

The blood tests are the thing to focus on - having said that I was a real one for peeing on sticks too!! And I have to tell you, even when my bloods where positive the sticks hardly even showed me being pregnant!!

Take care - and try not to worry! .....she says!!

Caz, thank you so much for validating my neurosis! I just laughed out loud when I read your post!

Well, my symptoms came back with a vengence in the middle of the night. I almost had to ask my husband for a bucket because I was certain I was going to vomit and we just got new carpet and I didn't want to risk a mess on our new floor! I never did actually throw up, but I was pretty sick and my boobs are back to being huge and very very sore! So I was not a complete freak all day waiting for my blood results -- which by the way increased 96% (yes, I did put together a little spreadsheet as well, thanks to your suggestion, Caz!) so it looks real good! Thank you to everyone for being so supportive!

Annie, I think you are right, half of my problem over the weekend was that they told me there could be cause for concern! Now that I am relaxed, the symptoms are definitely back! I feel wonderfully miserable!

Wendy -- I am thinking about you and I know everything is going to be just great. I know how scared you must be! It is like we get through one milestone only to be challenged with another! Just remember, bleeding is so normal during pregnancy and just keep up with the positive thoughts! I am sending lots of love your way!

Thanks again everyone!

Hi everyone

Shannon - so happy to hear your levels are better now, I knew you would be ok. My symptoms, what little they are are still coming and going, but didn't want to say that to you before I knew everything was ok with me.

I feel very calmed after the bleeding of my 3046 hcg level, but will now be pretty nervous till my scan on the 8th.

Tanya, how are you getting on with your sicky feelings?

Teresa, things sound like they are going fab for you, it must be so nice to see the changes.

Paige, how are you?

Caz, Annie and Gem, thanks for keeping an eye on us all

Thanks for all your support

Hi everyone !
Wendy,
HHHIIIPPPIII HOOAARRRY your hcg # is great, I wouldn't worry if the clinic wasn't worried, if you find it too hard to wait until scan day, you can maybe call them for another hcg in a couple of days, just for your reassurance that things are progressing !! If not, just relax and join every minute, your PG !!! there is obviously something growing in your belly !!

Paige, how's it going?

Shannon,
I know all about SYMPTOMS, I always find myself touching my breast to make sure that they are still tender     I am sure some people here at the office have seen me do that.. God knows what they think !!!!
Take it easy, I have also noticed that some days my breast are more tender than other days, but its all normal.

Thanks to everyone else watching us !!

Remember one day at a time !!!

Talk to you all real soon !
