Hello! I've been viewing this forum for approx. a month now. I'm not sure why I waited so long to post. I found this site (like many of you I'm sure) just trying to look for information and similar stories. I first singled out specific messages that applied to my situation at the time. Now I've found that I'm reading most of the new postings regardless of the connection. As many have already said ... it's been incredibly helpful to know that there are others out there going thru the same thing. "Thank you" to everyone for giving me hope. I hope telling my story (good or bad) helps others the way you all have helped me.
DH is 32 and I'm 35. We tried for 6 mths to get preg. w/ no success. Knowing that I had a shorter cycle (22 days) w/ a short luteal phase, we wasting no time and went to a Fertility Spec. Testing showed that my DH had a very high sperm count. In addition to my short phase I also had a high FSH of 12.5 & some polyps in the uterus. After surgery to remove polyps we considered the options. Fertility drugs vs. IVF. We decided to go straight to IVF.
I started my cycle in August. My est. levels were ok, started baby asprin (w/out end date) on the 25, and injections (drug of choice was Follistim) on the 26. My 1x HcG shot was on Sept. 3, and retrieval on the 5. They were able to collect 8 eggs & all were fertilized by the next morning. On the day of transfer there were two 8 cell, one 6 cell, and the remaining were immature. We transferred three on Sept. 8th and now I'm waiting. Test date is the 20th.
I'm sore from the progesterone shots, but was told that they opt for the shots in lieu of suppository b/c the oil injection is better absorbed by the body. My Dr. has been great so far, so I'm running w/whatever they say.
The wait is killing me as it does everyone, so I'm just trying to think positive.

Hello and good luck during your 2ww and for a BFP on test day. I have loved this board too. I read it for a while before I actually posted. At first I couldn't tell what the heck people were talking about, but after my first IVF, it all began to make more sense.
You should join the September Buddies thread too, if you have not. I believe you will find others on the 2ww there. You can try to talk eachother out of doing hpts .

Just wanted to wish you luck for the 20th. Hope you are managing to stay sane on 2ww, not too long to go now. Just use this board as much as you need to, it has been a god send to me over the last 2 months.
