QUESTION ON REFLEXOLOGY

Post by Nickie88 »

Hello fellow buds :D

I have an appointment next week at hospital to begin my fourth treatment and have decided to try Reflexology before treatment. Hopefully I should start to down reg middle of October which gives me 4 or 5 treatments before then. I just wanted to clarify with anyone who knows as I've read on previous messages here that you shouldn't have Reflexology during treatment. Is this the case?

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks girls

Hi Nickie

I have heard good stories about reflexology, although never tried it myself.

I did ask the hospital about it on one of my previous cycles and they were not keen for anyone to be touching my feet during the treatment, that was a wee while ago though.

Have you asked at your hospital or the person who is doing your treatment?

Good luck

Hi there
Good luck with you treatment
I had reflexology on first treatment and sadly it didnt work. Didnt have it on second time and that treatment DID work. (Ditto for Chinese medicine)

Have to say I think it total coincidence - I LOVED reflexology - and it definately helps with relaxation which is half the battle. Go for it - but maybe just be a bit careful after ET.

Take care

Hi Nickie,
I have been having Hypnotherapy which is also very relaxing and you are sent away with a tape that you can use at home as often as you like. Good luck Jill x

Hi Nickie,

My friend does reflexology and she says it's not good to have while in a cycle because reflexology works by stimulating the nerve endings in your feet which then set the nerves to heal and repair those parts of the body. So when you have the meds for IVF, reflexology works against them trying to undo what the drugs are supposed to be doing as the drugs for iVF are putting your body into an unatural state. But it's really great just before - really relaxing!

Good Luck!

Thank you so much ladies for all your replies ...... I have definitely come to the conclusion not to have reflexology when I start treatment - also I shall be very interested to see if the reflexologist I am going to tomorrow mentions this as it is part of the Beauty Parlour I go to.

If she has no clue about it then I may go to another reflexologist as I have my reservations as to how good they really are!

We'll see - thanks once again :D

Love
Nickie
