any help please.?

Post by loopylou57uk »

hello to everyone, just had my follow up app today after 3 ivf`s. first pos but low blood count,2nd and 3rd strong pos but early misscarriage, the consultant said i will need tests before trying again which i was hoping anyway,so me and dh had blood taken for chromosonal probs, and i also had 3 others taken for miscarriage probs,
the consultant seemed to say that if it was chromasonal, that it might be the end of the line for us,so now i feel in a right state, and the test results take 3 or 4 weeks to come back,
so really i am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me,with a happy outcome,as i cant help thinking i will never become a mam,and to make things worse a friend has just found out after trying twice that she is preg with twins,
thanks everyone.love loopy. :)

Hi Loopy....lovely to see you back and active although sorry to see you're feeling confused and mizz. Are you sure that the consultant said it might be the end of the line if chromasonal? I know I've zoned out at times despite trying to listen hard, all the info is overwhelming at times.

I've no experience of this issue but wanted to let you know we're all still here for you.

love
Debra
ps. your friend will be grey before she's 40!

Hi Loopy

Pls don't get too despondent .... I know 3-4 weeks is such a long time to wait for test results, but they could point you in the right direction ..? Try to think positive :)

hi loopy! i'm sorry about what you are going thru but there is hope even if its chromosonal. I too have had a series of m/c's & am starting 2nd round of testing today. But here is the glimmer of hope : at my IVF clinic they are doing PGD. (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) This is when they test the embryo to see if it is genetically viable before implantation. They do this for couples with no hereditary genetic disorders & couples who have a history of recurrent m/c or failed ivf's. At a clinic here (NJ, USA) they lowered the m/c rates from 23% TO 9% !!! :D

I hope this gives you hope - it did for me. I encourage you to look into it more as i will too.

Good luck with your testing - stay strong. We are all in this together!

Sinerely, Melanie
