Hello, a friend of a friend has given me this website address and I must admit, it is the strangest feeling to know that after months of feeling alone I will now hopefully be able to chat with people who know just how I'm feeling!

A bit about me....I'm 32, husband (DH??) 41. No previous pregnancies for either of us. We've been trying for a baby for 24 months. A recent laparoscopy showed I've got endometriosis - no earlier symptoms except, in hindsight, heavy painful periods (thought this was 'normal' when not on the pill...!) DH's sperm count on lower end of normal.

In the time that we've been trying for a baby, friends have fallen pregnant (planned or otherwise!), had their babies including Christenings, and are now settling into their new family routines. I'm left on the starting blocks so to speak, and it has become a source of constant daily sadness. I've been trying hard to fight self pity, but I do so desperately need some companions to share this with. Just started HRT and monthly injections to stop my menstrual cycle.

Really looking forward to hearing from someone.

Sara xx
Hi Sara,
Well you've come to the right place, here there is always someone with a kind word and good advice, as we are all going through similar problems. I found this site to be a life line, especially when you are waiting for the result of treatment.

Good Luck and Welcome.

Mandy.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Sara,
I'm a fellow endo sufferer, so I know what you're going through. Are you on Zolodex? If you're on injections how many months for?
What are you planning to do after the injections? Are you having IVF?
Crickey, so many questions, and we've only just met!
Well, welcome to the site, if you're anything like the rest of us (and it sounds like you are), you're going to find this place a real blessing. We all know just how you feel, being left behind by all your friends while they get on with their lives. I know exactly what you mean by daily sadness, it's something you carry around with you wherever you go isn't it? Anyway, you're in the right place here, because we all understand.
Let me know how things are going,
Love Tee x

[Edited by Tee on 09-Aug-02 09:20]

Dh: I've always presumed it meant Dear/Darling Husband, (which I've always thought sounded horribly American). I prefer someone's suggestion of Dick Head, which depending on how hormonal you are seems rather fitting. Take your pick.
Tee xxx

Hi everyone! I only found this site yesterday and I am already hooked. I am currently waiting and will know my fate on 23/8/02. I had 2 eggs put back in on Friday - one was a stage 8 and the other a stage 6 - my best result yet! Does this sound good?I was really pleased as I only produced 5 eggs.

I thought I knew everthing about IVF as this is my third time, But what is a Bio-Chemical pregnancy?

Speak to you soon

Kate

Thanks for the dh info, particularly the alternative meaning! Hi Kate, I'm a new girl too.
I've had 2 Bio - chemical pregnancies with IVF. I had a faint, but positive test result, and the nurses were not sure if it was because implantation was relatively late, or whether it had initially worked and then quickly gave up. "fell off it's perch" was the way it was decsribed to me. however, blood tests taken at the same time showed a low hcg level. they told me to come back one week later for another test, both of which were negative, although my period hadn't yet started. soon did, though.
i've never heard about the stage rating for embryos. is that to did with number of divisions? please tell me more. am staying up late for late night hcg injection - egg collection on tuesday.
