AF dance

just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on the drug side

We are about to start 2nd attempt at ICSI, awaiting AF which is typically up the spout. I am due to start sniffing day 21 and go for Ec around 16th Sep. However, if I don't get arrival of AF by around this Friday then basically can't do the whole thing, since commitment wise can't go for EC/T late Sep.(does this make sense to anyone!!!??)

Does anyone know anything about drugs you can do day 1? or ceterelic cycle?? think thats what its called. basically would like to get straight down to it!!!

Thanks,

Fi

Hi fi
i'm on my 1st cetorelic cycle, after 4 failed ivfs. you start gonal F on day 2 and after about a week or so, continue it along with a cetorelic drug for 5 days. the latter drug stops you releasing eggs. then late night hcg and everything else as normal. hope that helps. i've got egg collection tomorrow.
Hi Fi,

The cycle I was on you normally sniff for about 2 weeks starting on day 2 of af (if levels are ok after blood test on day 1). When supressed start injecting gonal-f for approx 12 days then trigger next day and ec, et as normal. Not as short a cycle as the cetorelic but I thought I'd let you know anyway. I started sniffing on 21st of june and had EC on 20th july.

Good luck, I hope af comes soon for you. Since it's such a lovely day outside today i'll go out in the garden and do an af dance for you. (I hope the neighbours don't see me because with everything crossed and af dance they might think I need a little trip to the loony bin).

Love Maggie.xx

thanks your input guys.....have spoken with clinic and basically the only thing I can do is day 21 and drugs as before. I was overstimmed last time so they want to monitor me carefully, and guess short flare isn't an option.
so thats me out of the running until around Oct/Nov time when we will try ...Tee if you're reading this aren't you going for it around this time?

anyhow good luck to all of you at whatever stage you are at.

Love Fi
XXX

Hi Fi,

Really sorry to hear that you'll have to delay, what a bummer! Hope the commitment is a nice thing, so its not so bad.

My af (Aunty Flow, I believe - guess term came from America like dh) also still hasn't arrived and I'm hoping now that it won't until Sunday at the earliest - that way I get my weeks holiday un-interrupted. I have managed to contact a hospital in Bristol who will do the day 21 tests for about £150 plus a yet-unknown admin fee which was a bit of a shocker, but at least much safer than rushing back to Manchester (Bristol is about 40 miles from the cottage we're staying in Somerset).

Keep posting won't you to let us know how you're going on.

Take Care, lol

Fiona xxx
