Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone has any advice they could share?
I got my +ve on Saturday, 16 days after EC. betas 70, which is on the low side but OK.
Since about a week ago, I've had VERY mild cramping - took it as a good sign, and it was!
Today - it stopped! Of course, I am freaking out, especially since I got a +ve last try and it ended at 5.5 weeks. My boobs have also gotten bigger, I think they still are, but it's a bit hard to tell - I've looked at them so many times I've forgotten what they usually look like! No other symptoms.
Have other people had cramping in very early pregancy, from before the +ve? If so, when did it stop?
I have another blood test on Wednesday, but of course until then I will be beside myself with worry.
Would appreciate any advice...
Thankyou so much - what would I do without this board?

i had cramps all the way through 2ww .remeber you wouldnt know if you was preggie yet if you concieved naturally...try to stay calm, have you tried first responce test...just to see if you have the line still there..i swore by them i kept all of mine when i got a+ 2yrs ago.
jaye,
When I was pregnant with my son I don't remember any cramping at all.
Hang in there until your next blood test! You have already jumped more hurdles than many of the women on this board!

I had very bad cramping early on with my first IVF and none at all this time. I don't think the symptoms really, mean much, sorry to say. This go, I've had no symptoms whatsoever, except the occasional bleed (which I'm happy to say has finally stopped) - and the clinic says I've got twins in there! Hard to believe, really.
Especially with all of the medications involved with IVF, we could be experiencing side effects of those, and really not PG symptoms at all. But the numbers and scans never lie, so just hang onto your +ve from the last test. It says all is well.
Good luck for your test Wed and we'll be thinking of you.

Thanks girls - I've been reading the posts so I know symptoms come and go, even when you're 'properly' pg (I won't believe it till I see it!). So I know I can't read too much into it... but you can't help it, can you????
Anyway, thanks for your support and encouragement. BT tomorrow will reveal all. Wish me luck.

Unfortunately it was not our time this time. Thankyou all for your kind words and thoughts. I think I did know, somehow, so it seems easier this time. Or maybe it just hasn't really hit home yet.

Hi Jaye,
I am so sorry to hear this - what happened? It is good that you were somehow prepared but it does not make it easy, does it. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks so I know how hard this can be - but it does show you can get pregnant! It wil be your time next time!
take care of yourself,
juliana
my heart goes out to both of you . i am so sorry that you have had to go threw this.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had a very early mc my first IVF and it was very hard. The clinic did say it was an excellent sign that we could get pregnant on the first go. Even though I was sad, I could not wait to try again, surprisingly.
Take good care of yourself these next few weeks and I wish you all the luck if you decide to give it another go.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost our little one at 6 weeks, first time pregnant on our 5th attempt, he or she has certainly given me hope to carry on, next fet in Nov or Dec.
Can only imagine how that feels to happen twice.
My thoughts are with you.

Thankyou everyone for your thoughts.
I especially wanted to say thankyou for Becky, for suggesting I could put my thoughts on the babies 'loved and lost' board. I'm sure noone who hasn't been through this could think of a 24 hour pregnancy as a lost baby. but they were to me.
Thankyou for understanding and knowing.

Firstly if Jaye is still keeping up with this thread, I'm so sorry for your loss. I might be over reacting, but reading about this and Alicia's first attempt, I'm now starting to worry a bit (ok, a lot). I've had mild period pain like cramps throughout the 2ww, and am still getting them although they're not as often. I got a +ive on Wednesday and my Dr won't do any blood tests to monitor hcg levels because I had my IVF/ICSI in Italy, and because it's not available on the NHS. As the tests are IVF related, she says they can't do them. I asked about doing them privately, and she suggested I rang my local hospital. I did that, and they said that they couldn't do it without a referal letter from my Dr, and then i'd have to wait for an appt. It's madness. Part of me thinks maybe it's a good idea not knowing if my hcg are good or bad, because at least I won't stress over them if they're bad, but after reading about cramps resulting in early miscarriages I'm worrying. I've got no other symptoms except reacting to smells (gagging over car fumes mainly). Can anyone put my mind at rest?

So sorry that you are worrying but try not to. Its pretty common to have af type pains and the smell thing is a big sign.
My story is very similar to Jaye and Alicias first attempt, I got a positive and miscarried at 6 weeks. I had 4 hcg blood tests before I lost the baby and they were all great results, I think its easy to get hung up on the numbers and to be honest I don't want them to tell me my readings if I ever get another positive. It was only after heavy bleeding for me that we found out there was a problem.
Get the referral from your doctor for the hospital but they can only do the blood tests as its way to early for any scan. Does your local hospital have a maternity unit, you could try getting in touch with them, if god forbid anything went wrong you must be entitled to care regardless of how you got pregnant.
Getting a positive result is amazing but also scarey, you will have been looking at a lot of the posts and everyone who did get a positive has been a bit worried by something.
Honestly Jools, its so early most of the symptoms wont kick in for a bit a yet, the best thing you can do and is relax, have a nice peaceful weekend and try not to worry. Im sure your Martini babies are happy and cosy where they are.

Jools.
Hey there, I am so glad to see you posted over this side.. About the aches/cramps... ITS ALL NORMAL !!!!!!! My cramps started on my 2nd week of 2ww and I thought it was over, I really felt AF on the way... But I was wrong... I had these cramps up to about 7 weeks I went to see my dr. then and explained to him what I felt and he said that its all normal !!
They aches/cramps went away around 7weeks and as the dr. nurse explained that they will be back around 13-15 weeks and of course they are back, but what I was feeling is the stratching of the uterus, and ligaments ...
Is there really no way you can get you hcg checked.. not even at a lab ??
When are you going for your first viability scan ??
I hope this helps!
