Hi all Oct/Nov buddies

I have been reading these pages for a while waiting to join the monthly buddies.

This is our first attempt - we are having ICSI.

AF arrived last week so I will start sniffing on the 23rd October. Weird to be pleased and disappointed about it's arrival at the same time!

Jill - sorry to hear you have been on the spray for 7 weeks - however I feel reasured when you say you haven't had too many side affects. This has been a big concern of mine as I am not ready to tell the world what is going on so I was frigthen about if my behaviour would give me away at work - I can be irritable any way so not sure anyone will notice that!!

Also trying to keep a PMA - and somehow be realisic at the same time - DH is very positive and always trys to come to the hospital with me - even to the counsellor (which I know he didn't want to do!)

Good luck to us all

Jill,

I have seen on other threads that you ET went ok - I hope you are alright on the 2ww just to let you know I am thinking about you. I have not been through the 2ww yet but I think it is the part I am most dreading.

I will keep everything crossed for a BFP - when is test day :?:

I am ok this week - just taking each day at a time - started to dream about it now :!:

Love

Hi Girls,
I am also joining you for Oct/Nov buddies. This month on Contraceptive pills.
Can you tell me why this spray used for? I had one failed IVF/ICSI. My doctor didn't advise me the spray. All I am taking now is Metformin(as I am a PCOD patient)prenatal and baby aspirin.
Thanks.
Valli.

Hi valli
the spray is to shut down your own cycle and basically put you into a menopausual state. It is sometimes referred to as down-regging.This is so your dr has full control of your cycle and can the simulate your ovaries in the next step by using daily injections :(
They have to do this in order to be able to preform your egg collectionEC at the designated time
hope this helps
Hi jules and jill-glad everything is going ok
I'm on my 2nd week of sniffing, only had one hot flush and a bit of bleeding.roll on 2oth when I hope to start stimms
I'm worried too about 2ww but all we can do is wait and try PMA
after reading zita wests book I'm trying to find orange knickers :) ,managed to find socks(she reckons orange is the colour of fertility)

Blimey we are all at different stages.
I am down regging - injecting buserelin daily. Been doing this now for 3 weeks, and dont start stims until 22nd Oct. Its a really long cycle as Bournemouth get all the women ready for ec on the same day.
I am really moody/stroppy/miserable (you name it!!) and I'm having the usual migraines as well, just like last time.
I am not as paranoid as the last 2 goes though - having the odd drink of alcohol, having a few chocolate bars. I am also not having acupuncture this time round. Basically I just can't afford it as it pushes up the cost of treatment by £500.00.
I did however have a nutritional assessment at Marilyn Glenvilles practice - they told me my periods were irregular because of a wheat intolerance, so I have cut out wheat. She also said that she thinks its unlikely that I will become pregnant as I have too many toxins in my body (as I only have a bowewl movement every other or third day). Great, that has obviously p****ed me off, as I am therefore wasting £4000 and putting myself through all this stress. BUT PMA I am hoping to prove her wrong and have twins!!. If this is so why having the specialist Ivf/fertility consultants picked this up???
Jill - hope the 2ww is going well. Take it easy ... feet up ... and lots of PMA. Make sure your tummy is warm (but no hot water bottles). Baby dust to you. Fingers crossed.
Valpas, JulesG, Londongel - am I the only one who's a raving lunatic on the drugs!!!
There must be some more Oct/Nov buddies out there??? Have I missed anyone off???
All the best

Hi Buddies,
Sophie,
You are right they would not have started you on treatment if they thought there was no hope. In brutal terms it wouldn't help their statistics of success so you go for it girl and good luckx ps my down reg took 7 weeks!!! Does your hospital offer hypnotherapy along with the counceling? it is worth while and does help keep you relaxed x
Hi Valpas
I hope you are having a good day stick with itx
Hi Jules,
Thanks for the good wishes not long till you get your drugs now!!!!x ps I was fine on the spray you dont necesarily have side effectsx
