Hiya Buddies!!

GOOD LUCK JENF!!!! I didn't know you were going in for EC today!!!!! Really hope everything went really well for you and you got some lovely eggs!! x If you are back hope you are resting up and enjoying lovely daytime tv??!!!!   Let us know how it's all going!
Jill - So you're day 4 now today, another day closer! Yes the 2ww does drag so get those dvds lined up and we'll keep you company too!! As Jen said, please don't worry about the grading of the embies, a positive outcome varies so much around the grading. Just you keep up that PMA!!
Alison - Really sorry to hear about your -tive. It is so hard, but you are doing the best thing possible which is keeping busy and going away. Give yourself time.. Thinking of you... x
Pam - Please don't give up yet! Hope you are ok? You are nearly there now - sending lots of positive vibes your way...
Elizabeth - Glad you had a good time in 'Dam! I've been a few times it's a mad place! Did you visit any of the markets? Hope the sniffing's going ok!

Well on day 6 of stimms now and got a hot water bottle permantly attached to my belly!! Pains started Saturday, really twingey then was really painful this morning after my blood test. Has eased now but just hope it's all ok. I am on a higher dose this time, so feeling like the follies are having an illegal rave in there.... I just hope I haven't over done it, but my consultant said doing gigs was fine so obviously just knackered! Fri night went well thanks girls! Last gig this saturday then hopefully be joining you on the 2ww! :D
Bye for now,
Love Kel xx

Hi Everybody

Finally had my first scan today after 25 days of injections. We have been given the go-ahead so I start stimming tomorrow! The nurse said I will probably be kept in overnight after egg collection like last time but at least I am prepared this time for it. Hopefully egg collection will be in 17 days. I feel really anxious this time -I guess its because I know what to expect -I guess everybody feels this way at some point.

My husband was in a very stressful job during our last treatment but started working at B'ham University towards the end. He works in laser research -rapid prototyping and the difference it has made to things is amazing. He is still manager but under a lot less strain. They have said he can take whatever time he needs during our treatment and are very supportive, he is able to take the three days off around egg collection /transfer which is great. I feel like he is able to support me a lot more and I can be there for him too.

Hope everybody is ok.

Hi Girls

This is going to be a quick one as i am really down. They collected 13 eggs from me yesterday which I was really pleased with.

Unfortunately this morning.......the clinic called and only 7 fertilised, and 4 were abnormal, one was not great and only two look kind of ok at the moment. They said the egg quality was not good.

I cannot believe this is happening to me, I am 29 and all my tests are fine......why have I got such crap egg quality??

Anyway it is touch and go that they will make it and even if they do, I do not hold out much hope as this happened at my last IVF.

Sorry to be depressing.......look after yourselfs

Love

Hi Buddies,

Jen-So sorry to hear you are down, sending you a massive hug.. But it sounds like you have got 2 good ones there? I know it's nerve racking, we had 9 eggs last time and only 2 fertilised and it makes the whole process all the more stressful. But they have clearly picked out these two embryos, so it sounds really good to me, I know that won't help you right now and I just so wish I could help! I just hope the time goes as quickly as possible until tomorrow when you can have those embies safe back where they belong! Try and get lots of sleep - my fingers are crossed very tightly for you! x

Jill - That was a quick burst on here!!!!!!!!  Now get back to bed please!!!!! Hope you're doing ok?
Jackie - Great news you are starting your stimming today!! Hope it all goes really for you. Good news about your Husbands work, and sounds like a great company to be so understanding..

Had my blood test results yesterday and I can keep on the same dose! Really pleased as last time they had to go up, so I must be responding better this time! But was in pain all day yesterday and it made me feel a bit sicky, but as long as it's doing it's job then fine!

Hi Jen

Hope you are feeling better.

I had IVF in January and they collected 17+ eggs of which 10 fertilised. I was kept in hospital over night so when the embryologist phoned it really gave me a boost.
When we went for embryo transfer they said out of the 10 fertilised embryos only 2 were any good I think they were low grade 2. One had split into 2 cells and the other one looked like it was splitting. We were devastated.

Anyway what I am trying to say is we actually got a positive result! (although I then had an early miscarriage). So please hang in there and don't give up. I was so negative during the 2 week wait convinced we didn't have a chance and then I was pregnant.

I started stimming today and I am petrified my quality will be the same again so I really do know how you feel.

Look after yourself

Hi Jackie

You poor love.......I will have my fingers crossed for you this time around!

Thanks for the positive thoughts, they do help.......I have had everything going through my head tonight including egg donor.........it just all seems so surreal especially as we have already had to deal with the devistating news with DH having Setoli Cell Only and having to use Sperm donor.

Anyway good luck with the stimming.....I like that part of it, it fills you with real hope!!

Love

Hi all,

I'm afraid my news is bad too .... we're not having a great run this month!!

I did my test this morning and it came up -ive. AF has now started.

So, we try again. Does anyone know how long they make you wait between treatments? I'd hope to try again before Christmas but I'm not sure it you have to let your body regulate before another attempt ... does anyone know?

Thanks for all the help and support this time round .. I still keeping my fingers crossed for you all !!

Take Care,

Hi Pam ... I don't think we've spoken before and I hope you don't mind me butting in .... I'm sorry to hear of your -ve. I know how bad it is, and how crappy you're feeling. You make sure you look after yourself these next few days.

At my hospital, they make you wait for three AFs between treatments. Their rationale is that it gives your body time to get all the drugs out of your system - and if you don't wait, your body will either react unpredictably, or not at all.

Best of luck for next time

Hiya Buddies..

Pam - I'm so sorry for your -tive.. It's just not fair. Take some time out for you and DH. I think it is 3 af's with my hospital too before cycling again, although some of the big clinics seem to let you start again straight away. I think it's good to give your body a bit of a break if you can.. Thinking of you x
JenF - Well done for yesterday! You are offically a 2ww'er now girl! I was really keeping my fingers crossed for you yesterday so I'm so glad to get on here and read your embies were good. I will keep shouting PMA PMA PMA at you now for 2 weeks!!! Sorry but I will!!!!!! No giving up yet please!!
Jill - Bless you for having a good ol cry at the Railway Children!! What's on the video collection today?? Have you won any 'This Morning' competitions yet????  Hope you are not going too mad yet!
Jackie - How's the stimming going?

Well I had my scan yesterday, and I've got 9 good size follies 11-13mm and some smaller ones too! So we're really pleased as this time on my last cycle I only had 4. Also my lining is already 8.7mm which again is loads better than last time! They are happy at the moment that EC will go ahead as planned for Monday! Getting excited now.. The only thing is, last time I was just sedated, this time I'm going into theatre and having a general? I didn't really want that but apparently it's a different consultant that does it on a Monday and he likes his theatre crew to be there.. Just always makes me so sick after a general and DH wont be able to hold my hand either! :? Well I'm going to try and not stress about it....

Bye for now,
Love Kel xx

Hi Kel

You poor love.........don't worry about having general....maybe I'm just a wimp but I got it for the first time this time and I was so greatful......with the sedation I felt everything.........every time they pierced a follice I thought it was going to come out the top of my head!!! Just drink loads of water and go for a massive sleep!!

My fingers are crossed for Monday sweets! and well done on those follies!!
