I'm so glad I found this website, it is absoluletly wonderful. Sometimes you can feel like a martian from outer space that no-one understands.

This is my first go off IVF ICSI and today I had my ET, wow, how emotional was that, totally blew me away. They've implanted 2 embryo's and frozen 4 all good gradings but I've heard that doesn't necessarily confrim a pregnancy. Well like many of you I'm going to have to sit and wait, I feel very patient now as I am so releived to have got this far. If any of you can give me some advice on anything at all I would really appreciate it, I am totally bloated at the mo too, I feel as though I could pop.

Lots of Love to you all Natalie x
Hi Natalie

I'm new too, I had my ET last Friday and am going through the boredom of a week off work. My advice would be to take one day at a time. By Monday I was feeling great, bloating was reducing and general soreness had nearly gone. I was starting to think perhaps I'll go back to work early and then wham Monday night I was awake all night with excrutiating pains around my ovaries which have lasted through to today. The clinic tell me it is my ovaries shrinking back down and to drink 3 litres of water a day. That's a hell of a lot of water but I have felt much better today. As we are so close in time and we'll both be testing about 5 days apart perhaps we can keep in touch and moan to each other about our symptons.Sometimes reading this website can be a bit frightening when you realise everything that can go wrong but at other times it's made be feel normal and stopped me worrying about nothing.

Good luck

Julie x
Hello Julie,

Thanks so much for your reply, and it will be great to keep in touch as like you say we're only 5 days apart.

Re Bloatyness, I've had it quite bad but have also been told that it could be the antibiotics from the EC that causes it so am looking forward finishing them in a few days time.

I'll take your advise of taking one step at a time, the nurse who assisted the ET was so lovely and said you can run for the bus after an ET, and just try and be as normal as possible, so that's what I will try and do and take it very easy tomorrow.

How many embryo's did you have in the end were you on ICSI too??

Well like I said it's great to hear from you and I'll be in touvh tomorrow I do hope you feel a bit better yourself you poor thing.

LOL N x
Hello again already

I've had IVF - problems with me not hubbie. I had 11 eggs collected which apparently was really good because it was all from one ovary - they can't get to the other one because of a huge fibroid covering it. 10 fertilised,2 were implanted and 7 were good enough to freeze. Quite a good result I am led to believe - what about you? I'm now hoping they all freeze OK so that if this attempt doesn't work I can use the frozen ones rather than have to go through the whole thing again.

Speak to you soon

Julie x
Hi Julie,

That was a pretty good result all those embryo's bet you were pleased. We were very happy with ours as hubby has got a real low sperm count motility you name it, and we were half thinking none would fertilise, anyway 6 did and I've had 2 transferred and the rest are frozen.

How are you feeling today? I woke up real early (unlike me) and made hubby sandwiches for work and felt brill, I do have sore boobs and my tummy is still bloated but a vast improvement. I've been pottering about the house and might even take my dog out for a walk later, did you feel this good on day 2 (I'm counting the days already what am I like).

Look forward to hearing from you

LOL Natalie x
Hi Natalie

Feeling loads better today - practically pain free now. Glad to hear you are also feeling better. Watch out for the dog walking though my clinic told me it was a no-no especially if the dog pulls. What have you got - I've got a 18 month old nutty labrador cross called Louis. Mind you he has been an angel this week and quite good company for me in between the chocolate eating, video watching, book reading, sleeping, general boredom. My first week is up tomorrow so I am looking forward to being a bit more active over the weekend - I haven't been outside the house for a week so I am even looking forward to the thrill of Sainsbury's on Saturday. Really looking forward to going back to work as well - how sad is that! I'm trying not to day count and have been quite successful so far although I am sure next week will be worse. I'm probably a bit wierd compared to most people as I've gone into this with a negative rather than a positive attitude. I'm telling myself that it won't work so that if it doesn't hopefully I can shrug it off and move onto the next attempt and it it does work what a bonus! What do you think am I a bit strange? IT's just that everything you read says that the hardest part is the emotional side, the shattering of dreams etc so I thought not getting your hopes up was probably a saner way of looking at it - how are you coping?
I think I'm going to sit in the garden and finish my book now probably accompanied by some more chocolate - not that I'm comfort eating at all!

Love
Julie x
Well I'm totally with you on this one Julie about remaining sane, I bought a book called the Infertility Survival guide and it kept repeating about having to keep an open mind, which is real hard indeed but you have to it helps me anyway (at the moment).

I did take Highbury our chocolate brown lab out for a walk and she's nuts too at 16 months, I was a bit paranoid about the pulling but she was pretty good and when I got back I went for an afternoon nap which was lovely.

Well maybe tomorrow I'll take it ever so easy, it's just that the nurse at my hospital (which was Barts in London incidently) said you must carry on as usual without over doing it, so hey I'm taking it in my stride.

Hope you had a nice afternoon in your garden with your chocolate and your book.

By the way we are off to France next Wednesday and not back til the 12th so I'll be unable to e-mail you and see how your doing from then, oh no those crucial days, I'll be happy to text you if you want, so sorry about that.

Keep drinking all that water

LOL Natalie xx
Morning Natalie
I have to say this is excellent having someone to talk to I shall miss you when you're on holiday but make sure you have a great one whatever the result while you're away. I'm glad your clinic told you to carry on as normal I've found it really hard being so inactive but when you read the messages on the site some people actually seem to take to their beds and not move for the whole week. During my boredom this week I got round to thinking that people who can get pregnant normally wouldn't have a clue at this stage that they might be pregnant so they wouldn't be doing anything different. I think unless you're lifting two tonne weights or horseriding every day I can't see that it's going to make too much difference to the result. I'm a bit obsessed with this site now it whiles away the hours nicely - lots of people seem to have bleeding at this sort of stage and are told it's implantation bleeding I've had nothing like that have you? I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad sign. Boobs are tender today but again not sure if that's a good/bad sign either. If things were normal my period would be due tomorrow and I always get sore boobs before that so who knows. I can't imagine that your period would be on time after all the drugs you've had pumped into you - let's hope not anyway. I wish I was going on hols - we went to Portugal in July but it feels like 10 years ago now. Mind you I have slept loads this week and do feel refreshed and raring to go. I'm going to pop into work for a few hours today just to catch up on my emails and paperwork so I haven't got all the boring stuff to do on Tuesday.
Anyway hope all is OK with you. Next time I post I'll post a new topic at the top of the page and put your name on it as our little section seems to be moving nearer the bottom of the page and I don't want us to slip off into oblivion. Have a great weekend, be good

Love

Julie xx
Hello Julie, So glad you're feeling refreshed and raring to go, good idea to pop into work take your mind of things for a while at least. I've been signed off for the duration of the treatment as I work away from home a lot, it's been nice but also very boring, I will look forward to going back to work after my holiday if things don't work out.

I feel good today I woke up very early again and popped into town on a bus, it was a beautiful morning, I came home and put my feet up and watched a good Black & WHite movie. I haven't had any spottings of blood but I think it's very early days for me to have anything like that as it's only day 3 and from reading the other messages spotting s usually happened around day 6/7 for them. The only thing I do still have is the sore boobs.

Not up to much at the weekend, we'll take Highbury out and potter about, maybe see some friends. Lots of washing to do before our hols, brill cant wait.

I hope you have a good weekend, try and relax and enjoy as much you can, remember keep drinking all that glorious water.

LOL Nataliexx
