Hi Londongel,
Don't worry about shouting at your DH, you are not alone there and the times I have thought "but you really don't understand"! The fact is I don't think they fully can, I am very lucky mine really does his best but sometimes I think it's hard for them because they just can't say the right thing that will help. I am sure your scan will be fine but if it isn't don't worry yes it will be frustrating but it wont effect treatment. I took 7 weeks to down reg!
Hi sophie,
I hope you have had a better day, keep writing here we all keep each other going

Oops - posted this on the Sept. cycle board instead of the Oct/Nov one.

Can I join you - I could do with the extra support. I'm starting my first IVF cycle at the end of the month. I'm on a short protocol, but I just don't know what to expect from the Gonal F. How does it make you feel? I'm really nervous about injecting myself too. I've been given a tip from Dolly (thanks Dolly) to pull the skin taught first, rather than pinching, but I'm confused about how far to push the needle in - any suggestions?

Hello all and thanks for all of your good wishes.
Well, egg collection went fine - they got 6 eggs. Then when I phoned to find out how many had fertilized they said that only 2 had so I was a bit worried about that, however, when we got there today for our ET they said that another 3 had fertilized so we had 5 in all. One looks a bit iffy but still it was better news. We got to see the 3 that they put back in ( a very surreal experience) and they will let us know how the other 2 get on and possibly freeze them. The ET went fine. I feel great (if a little shell shocked). Going to spend the day lazing around tomorrow them am going to go back to work on Monday to keep my mind occupied during the 2ww. Have my blood test on 4th November!!!!
No doubt I'll be visiting this site a lot over the next couple of weeks.

Hi buddies
Sphie-jane- I had my scan yesterday and.like you thought Debbie, everything had shut down
I asked my doc why I had no side-effects,she said people react differently and I was 1 of the lucky ones-she was traeting a lady who had NO side-effects what so ever did her IVF,so fingers crossed I'll get lucky again
Hi Debbie
Congratulations on your egg retrival, make sure you rest up for the next couple of days. What was the EC and ET like?
Joy-I just started Gonal f yesterday and had to do it myself.I was very worried before doing it but it was fine-I just stabbed the neddle and pushed the plunger. It did stig a little but was ok after about 1/2 hour.I feel fine today-have to inject soon(7pm I was advised)
Jill-thanks for your kind words

Hi Girls,

Debbie - did your EC hurt?

Tricia - do you know why they suggest you take your stims at around 7 in the evening? Have you experienced insommnia while stimming so far?

Hoping to meet up with the Cameo group tonight.

Babydust all round

Joy - welcome

Toni - good luck I know you were starting to sniff the same time as me (this weekend)

Tricia - good to know you got no side affects I hope I can inject as well as you seem to be able - interesting to know why they said 7pm :?:

Hi all
I seem to remember from last cycle that I was advised to do the injections at around that time too. Think its because if you have a blood test during the day it gives them time to let you know if you need to change the dosage but also gives enough time for things to take effect before a test the following day. I think that's what they said...

SophieJane- I read the baby trail too. Really enjoyed it but made me sob as well.

Am also on Synarel and am feeling better than expected - day 7 of sniffing today - slight headaches but nowhere near as bad as I'd imagined. DH is very glad I haven't grown horns & begun torturing him for light relief. Was also worrying that it wasn't working so was v. grateful to hear of Tricia's and others experiences. This is the first time I've had to downreg.

Ideas for 2ww - I raided the local library for films and stories on tape to try to keep sane last time.

Best of luck to you all, Anna xxx

Tricia - WELL DONE on the lack of side-effects, you lucky lucky girl!! :) Hows the injecting going?

Debbie - Hope the 2ww is going okay - and I have got everything crossed for you, that your little embies are grabbing on tightly.

Toni - Hi just picked up all the stuff - very nervous - I have Buserelin spray base scan on 9th November - yet another day to wait for.

Had a bit of a panic because we had to sign an ICSI form that got missed last time and there was a line about testing for male chromosomes that was new to us. So the nurse got the doctor and he said that maybe we should delay treament for a month and get the test done. After some discussion we agreed for me to start sniffing and they would get the test done before the 9th so DH had to have some blood taken

All systems go for sniffing tomorrow morning - excited - scared - worried off to the gym in a minute to get rid of some energy. :?

Good luck for Sunday - how long do you sniff for? It would be good to be at the 2ww together (fingers crossed)

Jill - as I said on the sept board - thinking of you today

Hope everyone else is well - you know where we all are if you need us

Hello All,
I can't think how I am going to get through the next 2 weeks - I've been going nuts today and it is only the first day!!!!!
I am not used to taking it easy and doing very little so I'm now bored. I'm going to go back to work onmonday but will still take it easy. Fortunately I am able to adjust my work a little and have a very understanding boss.

Tricia and Joy, the EC didn't hurt too much - I was pretty much out of it for most of the time and only have a few vague memories of them talking to me. I did feel a bit spaced out for the rest of the day and I had quite a lot of bleeding which went on until lunchtime on the following day. That worried me a bit so I mentioned it to the doctor who scanned me before he did the ET and said that everything looked fine so the bleeding was nothing to worry about. The ET didn't hurt at all - just a bit uncomfortable (like having a smear test). I didn't have any sedation with that hence the fact that I feel fine today.

Do any of you have an idea of when I may start to bleed if this hasn't been successful? I know that I should be positive but I also need to have some idea of the timescales I may be looking at. I know that there won't be anything definate but it will help me to know what has happened to other people so I can be prepared.

Thanks and best wishes to you all

Hiya

So Julie, hows it going on your first day? i start tomorrow morning. i think im more worried Im going to do it wrong somehow, or something. Like i wont sniff up enough or wont be able to stop sneezing. i guess Im as ready as ill ever be........................

Yes, it would be good to be on the 2ww together. My downreg scan is on the 8th - we keep on being only a day apart with these things - how spooky is that??!! The only thing Im not too sure abaout is how long im sposed to sniff for!!???

does anyone else have any idea on this? they didnt make it very clear and its only just occurred to me that i dont know when to stop!! do i carry on sniffing up til the downreg scan on the 8th November?

Debbie - glad it went well - i guess its all just a waiting game now, just take it easy and keep busy. I bet that is so much easier said than done tho!! Anyway Im thinking of you and got my fingers well and truly crossed for you!!

love and kisses

Hello Toni,
I too was worried that I would do something wrong but it all turned out ok. Just relax and the sniffing will be fine. It isn't a particularly pleasant experience but it isn't too bad. I had to sniff until two days before the EC. If you are on the same sort of protocl as I was then I guess it should be about the same for you. Just keep sniffing until they tell you to stop.

The 2ww is still driving me mad. I am hoping that it will be better when I'm back at work and have something else to occupy my mind. Everyone around me is wrapping me in cottonwool which is kinda nice but is starting to get on my nerves as I'm usually so independent.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone

Toni - Hi I was told that I will be sniffing until approx 36hrs before egg collection. Base line on the 9th but I asked if I sniff that day and they said to carry on until told to stop.

How did you get on today? Don't know if it has anything to do with the sniffing but I am sooo very tierd today (and yesterday) Did this happen to anyone else :?:

Debbie - hope you are doing ok - take it easy at work, I think though it is probably the best thing to take your mind off it When is your test day?

Trying to stay awake until 11.30pm (ish ) to do my last sniff

Good luck and best wishes to all (especially Jill and Jen off the sept board)
