This is my first time on the 'Pregnant after treatment' forum so treat me gently as I'm still a little nervous about posting here.
I'm 8 weeks 3 days today.

Anyway, I have a query....... I have PCOS so have been taking Metformin throughout my treatment cycles. During my treatment, my clinic advised me that if I got pregnanct that I should continue taking the Metformin for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. So, I've been continuing to take it. I phoned them the other day to get another prescription and they advised me that I could stop taking it. They said that they would only advise we to keep taking it if I had a history of miscarriage. I don't have a history of miscarriage but then again I wouldn't because I've never been pregnant before! (apart from a previous ectopic).
So, I'm confused about what to do now. I know that having PCOS increases your risk of miscarriage and Metformin is meant to reduce that risk. I'm also a little bit worried about the side effects the drug may have on the baby as there seems to be little info on this.

So I'm worried that if I stop taking it I will miscarry. I don't really want to take that gamble.
I was wondering whether there is anyone else out there who has been taking Metformin and what advice you were given about taking this drug in early pregnancy. I'm grateful for any help.
