A question about Hcg counts

Post by jill dickens »

Hello everyone,
I know it is too early to be over on this side but just wondered if anyone has any advice or experience they don't mind sharring about Hcg blood levels. On testing day (day 15), it was 46 so pretty low. By the 18th day (Monday), it had gone up to 181. My nurse said she was pleased with this and there was no need to have another blood test. What do these numbers sound like? Having never been pg before it's hard to know. The nurse recond I was about 4 1/2 weeks on Monday. Thanks alot for your help and for the lovely good wishes I have had from so many of you over here love Jill xx

Hi Jill,

I am not sure of the count to be honest the clinic never told me the figures they just told me I was pregnant so even if I was to say I wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about but I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Love
Shell.

Hi I rant the hospital today to ask if I could have another blood test. Iwas 46 on day 15 after ET and 181 18 days after. She said I really didn't need to and it was all going in the right direction. I don't know why just to put my mind at rest she didn't just do a test maybe it's expensive. I am now still as anxcious as I was yesterday and don't see anyone until 11th Nov for my 7 week scan. Thanks for any help or comments love Jill xx

Jill

Try not to worry too much about the numbers. I've decided if I ever get another positive I don't want to know what they are next time, its just one more thing to worry about.

I know it feels strange to be told your pg then just being left to deal with it on your own especially when you attend the hospital so much during your treatment.

Did you have a look at that beta base website, the link was on your other post?

Try to stay relaxed and happy in the knowledge you are pregnant :) :) :)

Love Wendy

Hi Jill

Post by Cate »

I'm doing fine in some respects and terrible in others the blood pressure thing has settled after up ing the medicine but now I am worrying myself after the scan which was lovely I've decided to do the amnio which will be 23rd Nov Paul and my Mum now also think I must be crazy after doing all of this but it has to be me that makes the decision. I really want this baby obviously and although I'm trying to still think of it as it and not get to thrilled now for different reasons it's twelve weeks today and I just wish I knew everything was going to be okay. Anyway enough moaning I feel incredibley lucky to be this far, now I feel like a heel again take care Cate x

Hi Cate,
I am so pleased your blood pressure is down that's a big relief for you. As for the amnio I havn't thought of anything like that yet, it's just way to early for me (5 weeks). I find it is really day to day at the moment, as you say though it really does have to be your decision. You are doing so well Cate take care love Jill x

Hi Jill
sounds like you have some good answers - look at old threads because this is something lots of us (including me have stressed about!)
Your levels sound good and rising really well - which is all perfect!!
However there ARE website that say exactualy what you should expect to see (i think its something like they should double every 48 hours or something - but I may have that slightly wrong) - go to google and type in HCG and pregnancy - and you get all the answers you need

Welldone!! and take care
