Hi Zoe,

I see you were asking Shell to recommend a car seat. When Dan moved on to a forward facing seat I bought the maxi priory xp. I would definitely recommend it. It's apparently one of the safest seats on the market as it has a side protection system. It also has a handle that tightens the seat belt so that the seat sits firmly. It retails for between £100 - £120. It also has some nice little extras such as four recline positions and hooks for the straps to be put out of the way, which makes it easier when putting the little one in.

I found it on a web site initially but then 2 seperate retailers recommended it as a best seller.

Hi Sue,

There's so many to choose from isn't there, I love mine to be honest and mine also has a recline on it so Alex can lie down a little not much but least the option is there. Mothercare said he can be in this until he is 4 years old and I opted for one that I can take the cover off and wash it which is always a bonus considering how mucky he will get in time. I had a good deal with mine it was priced at £120 and there is another baby shop in town which was doing it for £99.99 so Mothercare done the same for me so I was chuffed to bits. Mine was opted Gold in the Mother & Baby book and I don't have any regrets, just so many to choose from. Is yours a black one Sue?

Love
Shell.

Funnily enough it is a black one Shell (you witch), but there are other colours available. You're right about being spoilt for choice. I wish I'd have got the britax chair that takes them from newborn to 4, and starts out as rear facing then becomes forward facing when they're older. At least with that one you don't have to buy another as we've had to.

Is Alex eating better now? It's such a worry with them when they're of their food especially if it goes on for a while.

Hope everythings ok with you.

I didn't realise you had the matrix. I found it great when Dan was tiny and always asleep, but it was hopeless in it's upright position as he just flopped forward in it and looked really uncomfortable. I used to have a nightmare unclipping it too, as they were so stiff. How have you found it?

Hi Sue,

Totally agree, in the upright position it's completely useless - TOO upright!! It's been great for travelling up North though as he just goes to sleep, but space is now too tight...LOL, He was 7 weeks prem, so it was a dream for him at the start.

A lot of car seats like that got slated in 'Which' guide (didn't test matrix though) - one was even taken off the British market - it did concern me a little...It is easy to take in and out of cars when upright though - quite handy like that, but have to admit, don't use it like that much.

How are you anyway?

How am I? mmm! you are so going to regret asking me that!

I'm hating my selfish t*sspot of a husband at the moment. I blew up at the weekend after months of festering resentment, so last night we attempted to resolve matters, and I being the big girlie that I am started crying! This was met with 'Oh I can't be doing with this crying b*ll*cks, it grates on me!' .......could quite happily have stabbed the twat at that point ( oh dear lots of swearing in this post...sorry). I absolutely hate crying when arguing but always do when I'm angry. And then today to make matters worse, I picked Dan up from nursery as arranged (I think) and he went too but got there later than me. So when he got home he accused me of playing dirty tricks.....like I said, twat! I was quite amused though at how embarassed he must have felt in front of the staff.

Dan had an unsettled day in nursery today, and looked really poorly when I got him home. I don't know whether you're the same but I put everything down to teething, but he's been a bit under the weather for a couple of weeks now. Anyway I managed to get him an appointment with the gp this evening and it looks as though he's had a virus. He was due to have his mmr jab a fortnight ago and I'm so glad I didn't take him because I'd have been worried stupid that that had bought on this illness. I must sort out the single jabs, I can't bear the idea that he might be affected by the mmr. Have you decided what you'll do about Sam's?

Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention to you about the maxi cosy seat (you'd think I was on comission!) that another good thing is that you can fit it to the middle seat in the back of the car. You then still have the two seats free to the sides, also I can see Dan easily through the mirror and can reach him for those Quaver emergencies

Well the bath calls.

Take care,

WELL! I'm glad you got all that off your chest! Have you sorted your t**spot, sorry husband  , out? Festering is never good - does more damage to you. Men are  when they go on about tears - have you sorted it all out now?

Poor Dan - is he starting to feel better? Sam's not been teething that long. He's one at the bottom and the last two days, he's had one at the top break through and the other is about to - he's been a bit grumpy, but manageabl, touch wood. You're always best to go to the doctor if you are unsure. My friend with her second had some trials. Her wee one was very hot, not eating as usual and couldn't get her temp down. Was sure it was teething but her mum persuaded her to ring the dr. Turns out the soft bit on the top of her head got a little red and swollen. Dr told her to get her straight up to sick kids - turns out she had viral meningitis - treatable, but stressful. (was nothing like Dan, so don't let me panic you...)

As for MMR - don't even want to think about it...haven't a clue what to do yet - my other friend's two had it and they're fine - she says she do it every time.

As for me - bloody period is on its way - 3 flaming weeks after last time. Old blood to, so that's a sign the endo is back as I'm starting to follow old patterns again :( :( :( b**l*cks. Definately feel stress at work is a contributing factor. Sam refused to take his bottle of me last night, so that just topped an already fab day - NOT!

Off to look at acr seats this weekend....

Speak soon

Oh girls, sorry to hear about your traumas . I agree, men are such tossers sometimes. Jay was ill all over last weekend (ear infection rom nursery) so had high temp and I knowthat DH and I were just so worried about him that we kept snapping and arguiing with each other. My mum phoned to see how Jay was and all DH could do was shout that I was on the phone while the 'house was a sh*thole'!!!!!! Men, Can't live with em, can't murder em.

Just thought I'd add a bit re endo - I also suffered with it (grade 4 joy of joys, lots of surgery etc etc). Anyway - my consultant is a bit of a thought leader in endo treatment and recommended that I have the Mirena coil fitted (as not planning to have any more surgery/IVF). It takes about 3 months to settle in, and can be painful to have it fitted (I had mine done under a general, but they can do it under a local at your GP's), but apparently all female gynaecologists and male gynae's wives have it - as well as being a contraceptive it lessens both flow and pain of periods, also reduces endo deposits in the abdomen and you can keep it in for 5 - 7 years. I had it fitted in July and periods are nothing short of a miracle - pain free and so light I don't know they're there. Let me know if you need any more info/have any questions and I'll try to answer.

Hi Sally - don't want to have to go down that road - I'm pissed off because we're trying again and have been for a couple of months or so. Figured (or hoped) that if it was going to happen it would soon rather than later...fat chance it seems!

P.S just to clarify - my dh is not a t**ser!!!!!!!!!!! I'm lucky like that! LOL

We all have our moments and I am sure some men are lovely, and mine used to be. I am hoping and praying all works out and recently we seem to be staying civil with each other which beats arguing.

Zoe - Are you trying for another baby did you say?
