Hi there,
it's been quite a while since i last posted on here, and i see that there has been a few changes. Where's the chat forum gone???
I haven't been here for a while, due to a couple of things, mainly because it was getting me down to see all you gals getting on and having your treatment, sucessfull or not, while i was still waiting for a start date. call me jealous/envious, whatever, but it hurt.
Well, dh and i are still waiting for a start date, but i'm feeling more positive now as we have just had some good news, re our treatment. A few of you know about dh's condition which means that he has to have a sperm harvest so that we can stand any chance of having a baby, we have been waiting for months and months for the doctor down here in swansea to become registered with HFEA so that that can go ahead, but that doesnt look like it is going to be anytime soon. Anyway, we were up in london the other day, for an appointment with dh's consultant, who also works in the fertility field, and he was asking how we were getting on with everything. We told him what was happening, i.e. nothing, and he said that it wouldn't be a problem for hubby to have his operation at the Assisted Conception Unit, in london, and that it could probably be organised and done within the next few months. I asked him if this meant that we would have to stay up in london for the rest of our treatment, and he said no. We would be able to have the IVF/ICSI at the clinic that we are at now, which is good.
Some of you may think that we are side stepping this postcode lottery thing, and we are being unfair to other people who are going to the ACU, but dh and i despretely want a child, and if we have to do it this way to get it, then so be it.
Anyways, gotta go now...take care to everyone, old and new, beat wishes,
Heather xxx

p.s. does anyone have any info about the ACU? i know a couple of girls are going there...any info would be gratefully recieved. Thanx.

hi there Beck,
Great news that you are going to be starting your treatment soon, i bet you cant wait!!! I'll be thinking of you, and hoping for the best.
As yet, we dont actually know when we are going to be starting our treatment, we are just trying to concentrate on getting hubb's operation out of the way first. We are hoping that he will have it by christmas, new year at the latest. Fingers crossed.
Hubbs is doing really well now, and has almost recovered from his illness. He was so lucky, i really thought i was going to loose him, but thankfully he is ok now :0).
We have decided that tomorrow we are going to open a joint bank account, for when we do have a baby,(ever the optomist). we have been saving coppers and five pences, and we have just over £200. I know this is a little optomistic, but we feel that we have to start doing something.
Anyways, better go...otherwise this will be longer than war and peace. Take care Beck, and let me know how you get on.

Heather
xxx
