Hello everyone. Could someone explain all the acronyms used i.e 2ww as I am so out of touch with all this. I have had IVF before and then FET but that was a few years back now and I'm not so up to date with everything. What's the asprin for? I start my buserelin injections on Thursday and not sure if the injections are the same as syneral (ie have to be done same time everyday). Can anyone help?

Thank you
Hi Charmaine

Welcome to the site and the wonderful world of it's abbreviations which are as follows –

EC - egg collection
ET– embryo transfer
AF – aunt flo (ie. your period)
2WW – (the dreaded) 2 week wait
DH – dear husband

They're the main ones anyway! I started down-regging by sniffing Syranel on Sun just gone, so you're only a few days behind me. Plus Fiona is due to start this Fri I think, so you're not alone!
I think your injections are just an alternative way of down-regging, but maybe someone else who has used your drug can fill you in more on that as I've only sniffed before.

Aspirin apparently thins your blood so can help the blood flow to the uterus. I wasn't recommended it until this attempt (my 2nd go). It's best to check with your doc tho before taking it.

Hope this helps, keep in touch and rhe best of luck

Love Jules x
hi charmaine

i have used the sniffers and then went on to use the injections, which i was terrified to use until i saw it, it is just like a pen, very easy. but, i did get DH to do every day, and yes, they suggest to have a regular time every morning to inject. i was also recommended to taks an aspirin every day, drink milk, loads of water, no nuts, pinapple, and only 2 cups of decaff coffee a day.
i hope everything goes to plan for you. talk soon .

love jackie.
Thank you for the info. Makes everything a lot simpler. Looking forward to starting but am also very anxious. Glad they will be a few of you along the way. Where are you having your treatments. Are you privatley funding or NHS. My waiting list is 2.5 years, so we have saved like crazy and paid ourselves.

To everyone,

Thanks for all your advice and kind words. All most appreciated. I am starting my injections today - so day 1. Thought that it might be a good idea to start a diary of all our emotions feeling anxieties pangs etc. Then compile a fact sheet for new users to the site.
At least it would of been compiled my real people who have been through the roller coaster journey of fertility.

Any thoughts

Charmaine
x
