Hi Jackie

Not sure if I can be of much help but I can tell you that the docs don't recommend you testing earlier than 14 days after ET as you can get a false negative result before then, so please try not to worry (easy to say I know). If you look back at some of the other ladies on here going through their 2ww you'll see that there are no magic symptoms which mean you're pg unfortunately as everyone seems to respond differently.

You may also see that some of us do test early however due to the unbearable strain of the wait, with mixed results. I've heard that Clear Blue is supposed to be the most accurate home pg test, I had it in preparation for my first 2ww back in June, only to be rudely awoken by my period the day before I was due to test. But that doesn't mean the same will happen to you so please try not to worry and I wish you loads of luck with lots of +ve vibes!!!

Hopefully some other guys will post with more advice too...

Love Jules xxx

Hi jackie,

I think what you are going through in the 2WW is absolutely normal. I drove myself crazy analyzing every symptom, I couldn't sleep property, I felt nauseous all the time and found it difficult to think about anything else at all!!! All I would say to you is try and relax, I know it is easy for me to say this, but having gone through the 2WW I really believe that worrying and stressing about the outcome is not doing you any good. Unfortunately, it is totally out of our control and the best thing you can do is to look after yourself, eat propertly, drink lots of water and try not to stress!!! Please don't worry about thinking AF is about to arrive, it can also be good news. I was pregnant in March this year (ended in m/c at 5.5 weeks) and I was totally convinced that af was about to arrive. I had really bad cramps for about 5 days, so please don't think that it has been unsuccessful because of this. Also my IVF last month I had the same af cramps and that was also a positive result, although turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. Another thing I would advise is not to test too early. I started testing at 10dpt and was getting very very faint positives. At 13dpt I tested again and another faint positive, then at 17dpt af arrived. I do believe that if I hadn't tested I would never had known about the chemical pregnancy and would have saved myself a lot of heartache.
I have everything crossed for you and please try and stay positive - I know it is hard. Please let me know how your beta goes. BTW if you are going to test I would use Clear Blue. Don't waste your money on early pregnancy tests - they have never worked for me.
I hope the time passes quickly for you. Good Luck
Lisa

Hi Lisa

thanks for your reply. I have already gone out and bought 3 HPTS all negative, one of them was the clearblue, but i did test this afternoon rather than morning so hopefully my next test will be o.k. would you believe i have absolutely no symptoms at all today. maybe i did not go for i.v.f. treatment at all!!!!! I have made my mind up now that i am not going to let this get me down tonight.i am going to be so positive when DH comes home from tennis that he will probably walk out again{to the pub}.
Are you going to try again? Iam so sorry to hear about your 2 losses, that must have been very hard.
I hope to hear from you soon. thanks again
love jackie xxx

Hi jackie,

Glad to hear that you are trying to gain control again!!!!!! I really think that you are testing too early, some women don't get a +HPT until after AF is due, so don't dispair. Also clearblue is used from day of missed period, so I would wait a while (I know, easy for me to say now!), but i also TOTALLY understand why you are doing this and I know that there is nothing anybody can say to you to make you stop!!!!! HEEHEE I know that next time I go through the 2WW I will have to have somebody watching me 24/7 and stop me from testing and freaking out. When I got my + , not only did I do about 6 tests, but I also carried them around with me and kept on looking at them every 2 minutes!!! I was NUTS!!!!
When were you told to test? Will you be having a BETA also?
Yes, we shall be starting IVF again, hopefully in about 2 weeks time, just waiting for AF to start. I am keen to get going again!!!
Bye for now
Lisa

Hi Jackie,

Just a bit curious about the blobbly things you found..did you start bleeding? Don't worry about implantation bleeding, I never experienced that on either of my pregnancies. Do you have any symptoms?
Well monday is not too far off now, I am keeping everything crossed for you!!! Please keep me posted.
Bye for now
Lisa

Jackie,

I am so sorry that you had another -ve hpt, please don't give up hope, it's not over just yet!!! When I tested I +ve in March, I had really bad cramps and thought AF was about to start, I even took nurofen as the cramps were so bad. Some women don't test +ve until after AF is a few days late. I am sending you positive vibes.

Yes, we did our IVF privately at the Chelsea & Westminster hospital. We partly chose there as it so close to where I live, and as we have to have so many visits whilst IVFing, it was the most convenient. I have not heard of yours, where in london is it? Queen mum's gyno hey, nothing but the best for you!!!

Have a good evening.
Speak to you soon
Lisa
