Toni,
I started one yesterday .... test date thread that is........
Tricia - mine are just called the "little beans" .... and blimey I've got really bad wind too. Dp was having a little go about it in bed the other night, so I showed him the projesterone leaflet that says side effect "flatulance" ..... we then just giggled, but he was threatening to go into the spare room
Hello to the rest of you and hope you are alright.
best wishes Sophie-jane

Hi Girls,

My Eastrodol (?) levels suggest I've only got 6 mature eggs, rather than the 9 i was hoping for from the scan. Had the Pregynl jab last night and am just trying not to be too frightened of the EC due for tomorrow. Scared that I won't have any embies to freeze as not all are likely to fertilize, and not all will survive for 5 days before the transfer, and if I am lucky to get 2 for ET, what are the chances of having any left...........Scared i won't even have 2 for ET left................

Jayne - any news?

Hi All

Quick update

Scan was fine - I am doing all the right things

BUT

we are still waiting for one of DH's blood test results so I will not be starting stimms until 20th November - assuming the blood test comes back ok :!:

I did not take the news well as I was all geared up to start this week :(

Still never mind - carry on sniffing

Hope everyone else is ok - I will try and catch up tonight - you miss one night and it takes ages to catch up

Love to all

Julie

Oh no what a bummer :!:

Could you not get the test done locally? I had all mine done at my docs (as it was cheaper) and they came back within a week - all i had to do was get the doc to sign that they were done under his practice and send them to my clinic.

what about your local GU? again, my DH had his done there and they did him a letter for a fee of £20 (his docs wouldnt do them - something to do with life insurance problems as one was a hiv test) :!:

The 20th sounds a long way away (I know its a week on sat but still!) :!:

any way just a thought - obviously i dont know the ins and outs of your treatment! I just know that if you are anything like me you will be itching to get on with the next step!! :x

Keep me informed love - thinking of you

Tricia ... did you see my post on the otehr thread. I think you count day of et as day 1, therefore day 14 will be the 18th Nov for you. You might want to check it out with your clinic but thats what I was told last time.

Anna - how are your injections going?. Have you got a date yet for ec.
Jaye ... good luck 2moro for ec. How are your follicles coming along.
Joy - did they not consider keeping you on stims injections for longer. I had to carry on for a further 2 days as my oestrogen levels were still quite low and my follciles weren't big enough? However Dr's know far more than me. I also was told at my last scan that I only had 10 follicles, but ended up with 13 eggs, so don't worry too much there may be more little ones in there. Don't they say 60% make it to blastocyst stage so don't worry you will have at least 3 for et.
By the way, why are you going to blasto stage. Did you request this? My clinic has even offered me this option.
Best of luck 2moro. Will be thinking of you.

My Mum thought I was a bit mad when I said I needed to shave, trim, paint my toenails and fake tan my legs the day before ec. Does anyopne else do this, or again is it just me :?:

Susan - how's it going. Haven't heard from you in a while?

Julie - its seems like your cycle is going to be as long as mine was. What a bummer about the blood test. You could always try and phone the path lab yourself and get them to hurry it along. The 20th seems ages away (well it does for me coz thats my test day....scarey.

I'm still being very lazy ... watching absolutley useless tv (countdown, place in the sun). Back to work 2moro though .... gutted.
Speak soon.

Hi All

Toni - thanks for the thoughts but there is nothing that we can do about it - DH had the blood taken on the 22nd October but it is a complicated chromosome test that should have been done months ago - but there was a page missing from our consent forms and when we went to sign I said that we had not been told about a chromosome test - which we were sigining to say we had been so the doctor came and said we had to have it and that it would be done by today - but when we were there today we were told it took 3weeks at the very quickest and the result would be there Friday but as I can only start stims on a saturday (I will not go in to that one now!!) it can't be this Saturday incase there is an issue with the result. So yes it seems miles away today but I just don't have any choice. I had to collect another bottle of spray as my supply will now not last - these things are sent to try us.

Good luck to Jaye and Joy for EC tomorrow - let us know how you go
Sophie-Jane - you have the right to be lazy - take care of yourself

How is everyone else doing :?:

Hey girls,

Well, I made it to EC - yay! I haven't been around the last few days coz I've just been so pi**ed off with this whole thing - we are trying a short protocol, and one of the things they said can go wrong with this is that you can ovulate ahead of schedule - and of course if that happens you have to cancel. Some of the b/ts came back and looked like this might have happened - but of course it's unclear. So it's been in for b/ts every day since, scans and everything, and they basically couldn't tell me whether EC was going ahead until this morning, half an hour before I was booked in - went in for a final scan at 7.30, it didn't look like I'd ovulated, so at 7.45 I went off to the hospital to be checked in.

Even though it worked out OK (so far), I have gotten to the point where I feel like I can't take any more of the uncertainty associated with this whole thing, I am really at the end of my ability to cope, so I've just been falling into bed at the end of the day and trying to sleep - I feel like all I do is go to work and think about IVF. I can't seem to do anything else.

Anyway, I DID make it this far :D :D :D . So far so good, they got 10 eggs, out of 15 or so follies. It's the best I've ever done, so the short protocol seems to have worked for us. I would certainly recommend it. I feel OK, bit sore but nothing too bad. Just lying around on the couch watching trashy TV and drinking water. Now for the next killer part, waiting to see how many fertilised. We are doing ICSI, so hopefully that will improve our chances there.

Joy - didn't realise you were doing EC today as well! Hope it went well for you. How are you feeling? Since you're doing blastocycts as well, is you ET on Monday? That's when mine (hoping with all my might) will be. Is this your first go? If it doesn't work (which of course it will, but just if), they can up your dose next time. I started with 125 on my first cycle and now am on 300 - I'm also a really poor responder, and I don't even have anything to blame! :?

Toni - glad AF's arrived! Well done!

Sphie-Jane - you sound so positive, I'm really pleased for you. 3rd time lucky for both of us - coming up!

Julie - sorry about the delay. So are you just carrying on sniffing until the test results come back?

How long does/is everyone have off work after EC? First time I only took 2 days and that wasn't enough, second time took 3 days but actually felt OK on day 3. This time I've got 2, but I might work from home on Day 3 - compromise. What does everyone else think? Even if I feel fine, I find I can't really concentrate anyway, so I may as well not be there (my boss doesn't see it that way....)

Blimey, this is a long one! Take care all,

Sorry to hear you are fealing crap today Toni - good luck with the scan tomorrow. I am ok today - it is only a week later than it should have been - I have to keep sniffing and hope my linning stays low and I don't get any cysts in the mean time

Joy - hope your EC whent ok

Quick question - can anyone tell me approx how many days EC is after my 10 day scan (assuming that everything is as it should be - which of course is not always the case :!: ) and then providing this goes well when is ET

The only thing about this extra week is that it just makes your mind work over time. Does anyone know if sniffing an extra week will be ok?

Love to all

Jules I sniffed for an extra 2 weeks I think. Started buserlin (injections rather than sniffing) on 20th Sept and didn't start stims until 23rd Oct, so all in all was down regging for over 4 weeks. this was just to fit into the clinics schedule as they get all us girls together for ec at the same time.
It did me no harm at all.
I then stimmed form 23rd Oct to 5th Nov - 2 weeks. This was a couple of days longer than other people as my follicles needed a bit longer.
Hope this all makes sense.

Jaye - 10 eggs is fab. Well done. take it easy today and 2moro. I take off about 5 days, starting from a day before ec and then back on day 3 after et. Mind you, implantation is meant to be on day 3, therefore I have taken it easy and only done half a day today. My work is so flexible and actually it was my boss who sent me home early today.

I have been visualising implantation today. Ihave a little twinge in ovary (very similar to ovulation twinge) but hoping this is a good sign... that they are burrowing deeply. I am still very positive. :D

Toni - just remember you are at the worst stage. Your estrogen (never know how to spell it) levels are non existant which means that you have no friendly hormones in your system just the horrible ones. I cried so easily when down regging, and just felt so lonely and flat. I'm sure you can remember my miserable posts. Plus you've got a horrible cold ...... so poor you, go home and curl up with a nice blanket and hot water. Get dh to look after you, and I hope he comes up trumps.

Joy, how did ec go????????? Hope everything was fine. Am thinking of you as I know you were very worried that you wouldn't get enough eggs. Fingers crossed.

Tricia - how are you feeling. Hope you are surviving the 2ww. Still seems test date is ages away. Have you made any plans to fill the time??

Speak soon cycle buddies. Keep well

Hi all,

Toni, sorry you're feeling so rotten. Take care. Make DH do LOTS of nice stuff for you!
Julie, I've downregged for an extra few weeks at times, it doesn't seem to make any difference. At our clinic they do EC when the most number of follies are 20-22 mm - they grow 1-2 mm a day, so if you know how big yours are you can kind of work it out. Basically they just have to wait for them to be ready.
Well, out of 10 eggs they did ICSI on 7 (probably the other 3 weren't ready yet), and 7 fertilised! So, that's the best we can hope for for now. I think ET will be on Monday - I hate this part (the waiting between EC and ET, not the ET - I'm so happy when I get to that point).
Joy - where are you ? Are you OK after EC? Hope you're doing OK.
