Injections - after thoughts........

Does any else suffer from - did all the medicine go in? Did I measure exactly right or did I squirt too much out during the "get rid of bubbles" routine. Yes my hands go sweaty and I tense up but compared to all my thoughts after... Love Charmaine x

Hi Yes...every day!! ...and some days it hurts other days it doesn't and I'm thinking, why?? did I do it right?? did it go in?? did I miss? why is that little bit left in the syringe at the top? does it matter? (apparently it doesn't as long as you've measured the dose correctly 'cos they take that bit into account) Can't wait to get onto the Gonal-F, you have to mix that one up yourself...a whole new paranoia for me !! Hi Terri and Charmaine, We have found it helps by doing the injections together - my dh hates needles, but he's happy to use them for measuring out the drugs because this doesn't involve skin contact. This gives me chance to watch he mixes them OK and check there is the right amount before I inject myself. Dh then takes the empty syringe and puts it in the sharps box. I also think this way my dh feels that he is more involved in the process and also seeing me inject myself makes him more aware of what we have to go through - he can sympathise more. In your case, Charmaine, your dh should be able to reassure you that everything went OK and you can tell him that even as a needle-phobic, he can still help - if he suffers this way. As long as the injection is 'sub-cutaneous' (which is hard not to get with a centimetre needle even at an angle) I think its 'in', but best always aiming for a straight angle to the injection point and then thats one less worry.
