Anyone know anything about or have had trouble with fertilization. Dh and I seem to have a large failure rate with making embies. Dr says Next step is Chromosome testing? Does anyone know anything about Chromosome testing or have had to do anything like this??
Any information or experience on this topic I would apprieciate greatly!

Are you having just IVF or ICSI-IVF? Because we had just IVF on our first attempt, and we only had 2 fertilise from 9 good eggs, and they were a bit baffled as DH test results are all fine. But they still said it would be best to have ICSI for next attempt which had much better results and even got some frozen embies..
Sorry I don't know any info on Chromosome testing, I'm sure someone on here will be able to give you some info!

I think I just did plan IVF. What is the difference with ICSI+IVF? We have had less then 10% survival rate with making embies 2 rounds of IVF now. Dr says it should be 50- 75% success rate with making embies and there is definatly something wrong! The first time IVF I had 5 good eggs and only one survived and This time 6 good eggs and only one survived.

Sorry you are having such a bad time through all this. ICSI is an additional step (usually about £850 extra in UK) when they inject the sperm directly into the eggs, so there's no playing hard to get! Plain IVF lets them get on with it themselves!
I'm surprised your clinic didn't go through this option with you considering your disappointing results so far.

The ICSI option is more commonly used for Male factor, but if you have a low fertilsation they should reccommend having ICSI. When we had our follow up appointment after our first go, it was one of the first things they suggested. So, this time round we had the ICSI and got 8 embies this time! All good ones too, so I would definately go for that if you can? We got much better results.
