Hi Alette

I'm confused..... you were originally testing 30th September the same as me. I presume it didn't work out, but don't you have to leave 3 months between tries?

Hi Alette

That's really good you can try again so soon. I'm desperate for another go, but apart from still waiting for my first AF after my m/c (nearly 7 weeks now), we've got some major life changing decisions to make first (not that this isn't...!). DH has wanted to move to Italy (his home country) ever since I met him 14 years ago, and several things are coming to a head right now that makes him want to do it even sooner. Being realistic, we probably couldn't move for at least 6 months, so even though I wanted to try IVF here in the UK (so I could at least find out things for myself rather than relying on SIL to translate) I've come to the conclusion that there's no point whilst everything is so stressful. So, I'm now in limbo until we emigrate, unless we win the lotto in the meantime!

I hope it all goes well this time for you. Best of luck.

Love Jools xx

Jools,

I read about your miscarriage only today.
Am so sorry for you.
Can you cope?
Was there an explanation?
Or just bad luck?

Ofcourse it is stressfull waiting for your period, specially after miscarriage (you keep wondering, will my body act normaly again??, it will Jools, it will) with so much sorrow and tears.

And now the decision of going to Italy.
Are you happy with your decision?
One big advantage of Italy, they love childern, mainly catholic, so I think trying to get pregnant will be easier than in England? Did you inform about the circumstances of IVF there? Maybe it is free!!! That would be great!

Yes, a stressfull period for you.
With your move to Italy in your head you might want to save money...

Hope to hear from you Jools!

Hi Alette - I am due to start this week. I am just waiting for AF to arrive which hopefully will be in then next couple of days.

I am going to be doing the short protocol this time - which only takes 2-3 weeks. Are you on the short protocol too?

I'm glad I've found someone else who is starting this week - I thought it was going to be just me!

Love

Hi, lovely to see another group forming already.

Jools. Just an idea, you know how perverse life can be? If you tried again in the UK it would be hugely inconvenient re any move to Italy, and wouldn't be ideal...so what's the betting it would work??? Try, just to spite fate!!

Good luck everyone, Dolly nice to see you back.
hugs
Debra.

Hi Alette

I had no explanation for my m/c. It was so frustrating, because although I had the IVF/ICSI done in Italy (paid 2500 Euros), the Dr said beforehand that he would only need to see me once after ET (5 days after) and then it would be OK to go back to UK. When we did, the Italian Dr wanted us to get blood tests but as IVF isn't available on the NHS here, my UK Dr wouldn't do them  . So I don't even know if it was anything to do with my HCG levels or not. I had a really bad time after it happened, and had a month off work as I couldn't sleep at all and was quite depressed  , but I've been back at work for about 3 weeks and I feel much better in myself.

As for going to Italy, it's not something I would have chosen to do, as I'm very close to my parents and my only sister lives abroad, so they would basically be on their own if I went too. My dad's health isn't good either, so that's a worry :( . But.... DH has been so unhappy over here recently (his dad in Italy is in poor health and lost his mum a while ago), and he hates his job. He's also had a bad run with his health this year (kidney stones, injured arm at work with ongoing problems, car crash 3 weeks ago), so I feel I need to put his happiness first as it's something he's always wanted.

Debra - I might take your idea on board! Sod's law usually works for me  !

Dolly & Alette - Good luck..... hope to hear BFP's soon :D :D !

Hi Guys, how are you all?

Wendy, great to cycle with you again. I am doing a short protocol this time in the hope of getting some more eggs (got 6 last time). So if AF arrives today on time - I should have EC sometime during the week of 13th December, but we all know the old witch never turns up when you want!

Jools, glad to hear you're feeling much better in yourself. My 2nd cycle ended in m/c at 8 weeks and I know how hard it is to get over. Good luck with all the decisions that you have to make.

Alette, hows things going with you? Not long now to you first scan.

Love to all

Hi,
I'm new to the boards. Can I join your group? I will (hopefully) be starting stims today - I hate injections.
All going well EC will December 8th and ET on December 13th or 14th. This will be our second try at blastocyst with ICSI and our fifth cycle altogether :( .

It took a lot (financially and emotionally) to even think about having another go but it is the only chance for us.
So back on the sniffing wagon, it will be good to have some buddies in December.

Good luck to everyone

Hi Edi,

Welcome to the gang! I'm not too keen on the injections either (I had hypnotherapy last time to help and it did). Hope you get the go-ahead to start stims today.

This is my fourth time - so we are both pros at this!

I'm still waiting for AF to arrive - it is meant to be today - but no sign so far!

Talk soon

Hi Dolly,

Thanks for the welcome. Were you on the August buddies thread? I remember your name from then. I was cycling myself at that time but only discovered this board towards the end and by then I was too upset to register on the boards. But at the time just to read the other posts was a comfort.

So I started injecting last night. It wasn't as bad as I'd expected - dh has had plenty of opportunity to practise his injecting technique!

Has AF shown up?

Hi Edi,

Yes, I was an ACB. Although that seems like years ago now! Glad you've joined us now though. I know what you mean - when I first found the board I just read it for a while before I dared post anything. And I was so glad when I did because it made treatment much more bearable - it is great to have so much support and advice from people who are going through the same thing and understand exactly what you are going through.

Glad to hear you're on to stims. Injections are never very pleasant - but sometimes needs must and hopefully it will all be for a good cause! My DH does my injections as well - there is no way that I would be able to do my own. i really admire girls who do it themselves...

AF still hasn't arrived. I was meant to call the clinic on day 1 so I rang them to day to ask what I do if she arrives over the weekend and they said to inject buserelin on day 1 and then call them on Monday and they will arrange for me to be scanned that day or Tuesday. So, fingers crossed she will be here soon... if she is any later I won't be able to start because Xmas will get in the way.

Take care

Love
