Hi Girls,
Well took Alex to be weighed yesterday and he is now 21lb 09oz and 9 months old. The H/V said I have to start brushing is little teeth from now because they are through so off to buy him a toothbrush today. It's just so scary where the time is going.
Also had GP today because had to get the results from his thyroid and its evened itself out he will have to go back next year to be tested again but I am so glad all is ok.
Louise24 - Sorry not able to text you because I have just checked and ain't got credit and going over my parents in a bit.

Hi Shell...wow, Alex is doing well for only 9m! Maya only weighs 2lbs more and is twice his age, and is only in the 50% for her age/weight. Where is Alex on the graph/scale???
Good luck with the teeth cleaning. Will you start with a brush or one of the finger-brushes? It can be a battle at the beginning, it took quite a while (weeks and weeks) before Maya was really happy with us doing this. Luckily she likes the taste of the different toothpastes we've tried so far. We tried all doing brushing our teeth at the same time and that helped a bit. She likes to have 2 brushes, she holds one whilst the other is being bitten to death! I've also just started to try with my electric t'brush which at first she didn't like but now lets me do the front ones at least. My dentist said as she's not drinking juice (or squash) nor eating sweets everyday then just trying-at-least is better than nothing. She does eat fruit though so that's full of sugars too. We try twice a day but I wouldn't say we get to every tooth (she's got 12) every time.
Good news on your delayed return to work. You'll be able to relax over the holidays. Have you sorted out childcare yet? Did you mention getting family to help? One tip, pay them AND have a back-up plan / emergency person you can call on the day if someone is sick.
Just made a fool of myself in the local social security office. There is an IVF drug cost reimbursement scheme here if you don't qualify for free under the NHS-equivalent. I just took all the papers in from this year. I had to explain that they all failed and burst into tears. Luckily the lady was lovely and there was no one else in the place but still.....

i got ben weighed monday aswell he is 8.5mths and weighs exactly 20 pounds they said he is tall for his age im not tall and neither is his father
he is on antibiotics for his ezxyma cause its worse and spread all over got to take him back next wed

(literally was a TOOTHbrush! LOL). He has 3 now, but is having a hard time today and the fourth is just pushing through - the wee love.-

Ain't it just so lovely brushing there teeth, what toothpaste did you have? Alex loves it he always smiles, hes got 2 and one coming through the top now, don't you just love them and want to keep munching.

Hi, we've been having bad nights since August and we keep thinking 'it must be more teeth' but we've not seen any new ones. This morning we finally saw the first signs of her incisors getting ready. These will be her 13th and 14th...I can't wait for them all to be through. Poor little mite. She also threw up all over herself at 02.30 last night...first time she's ever done that.
Joy! But we wouldn't be without her for all the money in the world.

Hi girls - I have to say i'm getting very jealous because Jay has not got any teeth yet. I love his little gummy smile, but there's no sign of any peggies yet. There is one I can see very faintly under the gum towards the back (premolar I think) but that's it.
He has been dribbling off and on for the last 3 months, and he keeps getting red cheeks but nowt else! He keeps getting viruses and ear infections but i'm not sure if that's to do with his teeth or starting nursery in September, or both!
I can't believe how fast the time has gone - this time last year he was still inside adn we were measuring our bumps with loo roll - he's 10 months old on Saturday! Perhaps he'll have a tooth for the weekend!!

Jay does this really cute thing, he can't crawl (he can go backwards of a fashion but not forwards), but he sits cross legged and half shuffles/half jumps forward - he moves at about 1 cm at at time!!

Jay's not crawling either!!! Just sitting cross legged and shuffling/jumping up and down! I reckon he doesn't want to get his hands dirty! Did you do anything to help Alex crawl or did he just get on with it? I keep trying with Jay, but all he does is go backwards when he's om his front!
The first 3 weeks of coming back were dreadful - I couldn't stop crying and couldn't concentrate, and couldn't think even!! I do actually love the work I do, and after the first 3/4 weeks I got used to being back. The main thing is we can't afford to live if we didn;t have my wage so I've got no option. What really helped me was Jay - the fact that he loved nursery from day 1 - I think he likes being adored and playing with the other babies. Also, Richard finishes work at 3pm so can pick him up early from nursery so he's not there too late every day.
I really cherish the day I have with him on our own but when he's asleep I have to run round like a loony cleaning and ironing. I'd love a cleaner, but with dropping a fifth of my salary and paying £500 per month nursery
I can't afford it.
3 days is a great solution for you though - once you get over the shock of being back, leaving Alex and trying to locate your one remaining post-pregnancy brain cell, you might find that it's a balance you're happy with. Just remember that if you're anything like me you'll take a month or so to get used to the new routine and to go easy on yourself.

Isn't nursery just so expensive, I can't believe you have to pay that amount, but someone said to me that you are able to get help from the social if your wages are under a certain amount??
Only a short one, Alex just started crying, I am trying to leave him a bit but I really do think he hates this cot, he's never settled in it from day 1 for some reason.
I left him the other night to cry and he was literally sobbing, but don't want him to keep coming in with me.
Do you remember them days Sally when we used to measure ourselves with paper, that was your idea wasn't it?
Anway best go and see to my Son, I am wondering when he will start sleeping through its 23.32 and he didn't go to sleep till 23:00 wanted to keep playing.
I didn't do anything either to make Alex crawl he just done it, but today he was lying down and sat up on his own which I was chuffed to bits about.
