first time at ICSI-help!

Post by charlotte »

Hi everyone
just got back from our first visit to the Lister to talk about IVF. A bit shocked to get our test results back, my husband has a low sperm count which means we're going for ICSI. Wasn't expecting it at all! I think husband was a bit shocked too. Feel a bit anxious about everything, is anyone else going thru the same thing? I don't start sniffing till the end of this month: 30th Sept. Any buddies would be most welcome!!
Thanks for listening
Charlotte
p.s the Lister seems very nice, is anyone else being treated there?

Hi Charlotte...
You are in good company here luvvie, there are a few of us going through our first IVF/ICSI including me...
I start on Provera tablets on Thursday and start sniffing on Sunday and I am feeling incredibly anxious, its only natural though as what we are doing isn't normal is it.
How long have you been trying for babies, I stopped taking the pill 9 years ago, and we have been having fertility treatment for a few years including 5 IUIs...its been tough but hubby and me have a stronger relationship because of it.
Main thing is don't worry (even though its damn hard not to!!) and take things easy this will be tough on your body...all them hormones! and most importantly if you can't talk to hubby, there are a load of us all in the same boat on here so just log on and chat.
Good luck for the 30th, I'll be well on the way by then...so I shall send you positive thoughts,
Take care,
Helen xxxx
