Hi Cath!

I should be a January cycler all being well, I'm also having FET and my 3rd go too!! But by the sounds of it, you will be ahead of me, as originally I thought I was having a natural FET with transfer in Jan, but now the hospital prefer to do medicated cycles, so I guess I will start the down regging actually in Jan..
Have you had a FET before?
Well, here's to 3rd time lucky!!!!

All being well I will be doing a FET in Jan. My last tretment was cancelled after EC due to a polyp, that was removed last Monday, now just waiting for the clinic to write to me about when i can but to be honest I'm not holding my breath. Will probably call them when AF arrives as they down reg you for one month where I am so dont't want to wait too long.

Cheers,

Jane

I am due to start my 3rd cycle of IVF in Jan/feb - I have loved reading everyone's messages and find them to be very comforting that I am not the only one going through this. On my second attempt they found a chocolate cyst which they said would burst on its own. But after my 2nd failed attempt I found the pain from the cyst was getting worse each month so I opted to have surgery to have it removed first but they were unable to so I am about to start my next cycle in Jan with EC in February. I feel a bit more apprehensive this time because of the pain I get with cyst and if I am injecting all those drugs to increase things what will it do to the cyst? I should of spoken about my fears to my consultant but I always get the feeling he does not want his time wasted. I would love to hear from you all as I get more information from this web page than I do the consultant. Good luck to everyone who is currently undergoing IVF or waiting the 2ww.

Hi everyone,

I will be doing a medicated FET in Jan. I'm on bcp's right now in order to schedule things better. I should start downregging around Dec. 29 which would make my ET sometime around the end of Jan...assuming everything goes according to plan.

I have to say I'm really apprehensive about dealing with the horrible moods I found myself in while taking the meds. and, of course, there is the fear of dealing with a -ive again but I've convinced myself I just have to face it as I've been procrastinating too long on this. I need to start focusing more on the potential outcome and less on what it takes to get there I guess!

Hi January Buddies!

Well we're getting a bit nearer now, so hoping to get to know you all!
Staci - Only a few weeks now!!!!!! Great we're going to be cycle buddies!
Elizabeth-Anne - I would double check with your consultant if you are worried about your cyst? I'm sure they wouldn't have gone ahead with your cycle plan if they thought it would be a problem, but it would be piece of mind for you. I'm sorry I don't know if it would make it more painful for you, I had a cyst removed (which I didn't know I had!) but that was before starting the wonderful rollercoaster of IVF! Wishing you lots of luck!
Jane and Cath - Hi to you both!

I'm really hoping to start down regging mid Jan if all goes to plan, will be able to check that next week.. Just trying to make time go quick until then by xmas shopping and retreiving my cat from the middle of our Xmas tree!!!!!!!!!?!

Bye for now,

hi girls!!
i'll be starting treatment in jan for the first time - i'm so nervous but excited at the same time! saw our specialist yesterday and he wants to get the ball rolling so i start taking the pill late dec/early jan which means ET is in feb i think? - i cant believe its so close now! he also said it would be a good idea to do ivf/icsi as dh has a higher concentration of abnormal sperm combined with my severe endo and pcos.... also, he talked about how many embryo's we wanted transferred back - the max in australia is 2 so i opted for that but then he said there's only a 5% extra rate of pregnancy so it would really make no difference, plus there is an increased rate of abnormalities with the more embryo's u put in so he's put down 1 for transfer, querying 2 which im sort of disappointed about? he told us to think about it - whats everyone else heard/done?
arrghh i hope it works for all of us!! what a wonderful new year suprise that would be!! goodluck girls!
d xo

p.s kel, i know what u mean about your cat and the tree!! dax (the cat) thinks its hilarious but im kinda getting sick of picking up deco's off the floor to put them back on to him just flicking them off again!! hehe

Hi girls!

Welcome to Danica - there's a good few of us on board for January now! You are right, it is getting close now, I actually feel like time is speeding up for a change!! Wishing you lots of luck with your cycle! With regard to how many embryos, for my other 2 cycles, we had 2 put back as our consultant never even mentioned putting back 1? To be honest if it was up to me I'd have put the whole lot back!!!!!!  Luckily it is not my decision then really!!! But that is a very fair point and it is good that you have the option, so you must do whatever you feel most happy about. Sounds like you have a very good clinic as they want you to have a think and not just making the decision for you.
So you're from Australia! Where abouts are you? I was born in Perth! Are you having a scorching summer right now?? 8)

Well, hope everyone else is doing ok? I have just had confirmation this week that we will definately be starting our FET cycle 14th/15th Jan!! So pleased, as was getting a bit nervous it may be pushed back but can relax now! So, the sniffing will commence again soon!!!

Not long now girls..

Hi everyone,

Well, I had a scan yesterday just to make sure the cysts that forced me to cancel my cycle back in Aug. were gone. Everything is clear so I'll start downregging Dec. 29 and go back into the clinic on Jan. 7 for bloodwork.

Kel,

Glad you got the go ahead! From past experience, it seems to take me longer downregging than the typical 10 days and I'm guessing the estrogen part of things will take longer too. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up getting done before me!

Alison,

Of course you can join us :) !
Did you do a medicated FET or natural?

Danica,

I actually had the opposite issue with my first cycle. My Dr. wanted to put back 3 or 4 whereas I had been planning to request 1! I really didn't want to run the risk of twins. We ended up compromising and putting 2 back and freezing the other 7 that I had. At any rate, all of the research I've read indicates that your overall chances are still about the same if you go with one then freeze the others and use them in subsequent frozen cycles. Of course, a lot of people don't have the financial resources to do multiple frozen cycles so they put as many back as they can. If that's not an issue for you then, if they have a really high quality embryo to transfer, I think I'd feel comfortable just going with the one and freezing any others. Do you know if your Dr. is planning on a 3 day or a 5 day transfer?

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good week!
