Sorry guys but am now in the process of trying to destroy any evidence of the WIggles in our house...personally I think they are a bit creepy...give me the Koala Brothers anyday!!! But for those of you who have no choice but to try and buy the DVD's...you can get Wiggles episodes on the compilation HIT Dvd's (they have Barney, Pingu, Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina...etc...etc)
Unfortunately Rebecca loves them.....obviously gets her bad taste in TV from her Dad!!! Ross bless him loves Pingu and Postman Pat (Like his mum!!!) And of course we are all mad for Balamory....PC Plum is so camp he makes me pee laughing every time I see him.....we even had to say no to the live stage show as I feared a major wet seat situation if he came on stage!!! (Tracey S that could be another cue for musical knickers that play the Balamory Theme tune every time you pee yourself!!!)
Sorry...I know I am probably insulting somebodies taste here by slagging the Wiggles (and I hate Barney) but I can't help it....they freak me out!!!
I can't wait till they are old enough for Disney films as I can't wait for an excuse to see them all again!!!
Whey hey think I am having a mad moment sorry....maybe work is finally getting to me
Nicky, I've the opposite problem! I WANT to find some! Do you know if you can get HIT dvds for Region 2? or do you have an 'any region' player? I really want to find a Wiggles dvd but their website says there's nothing available for Region 2 players.
even though it goes against my better judgement!!! We have only managed to get one episode as part of the compliation tape produced by HIT entertainment. You should maybe try their website as they produce most of the DVD's Vids for the UK market.
I hope that helps though I really do think you are mad!!!
Oh Nicky, Nicky, Nicky, how can you say these hurtful things?
We love the Wiggles - didn't I tell you that we went to see them 'live' in September? If you like, I'll send you copies of the 2 imported CDs that we play constantly. Daniel and Charlotte know all of the words and actions - if we had a webcam I could ask them to teach Ross and Rebecca too.
Love Jules

I loved this post it did half make me laugh, especially with what Jules said. Alex always watches Cbeebies in the morning and he's into the Fimbles, Tweenies, Big Cook Little Cook, he does pat a cake to that bless him and he watches the blue hoover go round when the Teletubbies.
Whats the story in Balamory wouldn't you like to know
Sorry was getting carried away and going to start singing to you
Jules, as much as I love you Charlotte and Daniel...please no......anything but CD's...it would be my idea of hell.....but we could always watch a webcam with the sound off!!!!!
Shell, we have a little Friday Cbeebies ritual as it is my one day home with the kids and must admit I find myself humming all the tunes all day.....I have a real soft spot for the Fimbles especially Roly Mo and love his new show......(what ever happened to my taste!!!) But it is the Balamory theme tune which rules supreme in our house, and when we are out for a walk...I am often caught in Boots or Asda singing it with them...thne suddenly realising everyone is staring at me.....especially when I am trouping round Asda without the kids and forget they are not there and am still singing it!!!!!! Last week I had a moment in the Baked beans aisle and was found singing the Tweenies song to the pasta shapes (I need a break!!)
So come on then which kids shows drive everyone else nuts????
can I just say -- I really like Big Cook little cook - I am humming the tune as I type this in work - hope no-one comes past my office!!! They already think I'm mad as it is, because my pregnancy memory loss has never returned.
So much so that I actually forgot Jay's nursery parent's night last night because I got the wrong date fixed in my mind.. I am so ashamed I could cry!
I also quite like Blues Clues, which is a particular favourite of Jay's (being Kevin - must be the easiest job in the world!), but although Jay likes Dora the Explorer I think it's very sinister in some way I can't quite put my finger on! While I was on mat leave Jay loved the Shiny Show but has gone off it which is a bit annoying as that was my favourite!!
I can't make up my mind about the Wiggles - I thought they were harmless but after Jay and I watched it together for 10 minutes while I was changing him one day, I found myself singing a particularly unpleasantly catchy song about a pirate that turned into a duck for the next 2 days. If it does that to my knackered old brain cell what horrid influence must they exert over defenceless and innocent baby brains????

Well, I've been embarrassed by The Wiggles this afternoon. On our way home from school, we always end our walk by singing 'Stop at the Lights' (a very responsible Wiggles song teaching children how to cross the road safely) all the way down our road. Unfortunately my next door neighbour decided to arrive home just as we got to her drive and were singing at the top of our voices. I found myself trying to explain why we were doing this, when really I should just have kept walking!
Sally, we love Big Cook, Little Cook too. Did you know that they're stand-up comedians in 'real life'? But I'm afraid that we also love Dora, Dora, Dora the Explorer.

I'm now thinking of the Quack Quack dance they did - I am under their spell and must Kill .... kill ...... kill !!!!! Sede what they've done to me???
How embarrassing about your Wiggly experience (ooo that sounds awful doesn't it!) - when I do things like that people just look at me really pityingly - you feel so embarrassed don't you!
I THOUGHT BCLC had a certain star quality - they should be prime time as far as I can see - might write into points of view or something if they still have it!
I have worked out what I don't like about Dora. The bloody back pack back pack. Why's it got its own song? It's probably something that happened in the first ever episode that onlyh die hard Dora fans understand but it's passed me by and is now rather irritating. Any clues would be appreciated as I might like her more if I know what the deal was with the backpack.
Anyway must go - am off today so am taking Jay to see my mum and dad - got a lot to COCKADOODLE DO ha ha ha ha (it's happening again ........)

Shell, you asked who/what the Wiggles were. They are singers. A group of 4 Aussie guys who have dedicated their lives to singing tiny children/ toddler friendly songs and going on tour. Bit surreal but extremely catchy and kids adore them. They tour the world (really!) and from a US board I post on can tell you the kids over there are nuts about them. They've toured a couple of times in the UK but aren't as well known just yet - but will be very, very soon. They have some animals/other characters that appear in the songs and on stage with them (Wags The Dog, Dorothy The Dinosaur, a pirate etc). Now you know!
Debra (who still remembers the tune of one Wiggles song she heard once 3 years ago, you have been warned!)
