Had the amnio

Post by Cate »

Thanks for the good wishes Alicia and Paige
Alicia my amnio was yesterday 30th because the baby last week didn't have enough fluid near it's head to make them comfortable also the positioning wasn't good enough to get a clear view so don't worry. one week in my case made all the differnce I get the early results Monday after 1pm thats for the Downs part and the sex of the child.
The amnio was everything I was told though I had got myself in a bit of a state with the extra weeks wait and appointment being changed from 10am to 2pm cos doctor off sick had to be fitted in!!!!
I was glad they went ahead true it wasn't very comfortable but better than I thought honestly, today I just feel stiff and the skin is sort of tight, Paul took Jess to school and my mum has come round to fuss around me and make sure I don't hoover for 48 hours that's what the hospital said!!!!
strangely I don't want to hoover anyway....Take care fingers crossed Be in touch soon Cate xxxx

HI Cate,

Please make sure you let people make a fuss over you at the end of the day just take it easy. I will keep my fingers crossed that all will be ok with your results.

Good Luck.
Stay Positive.

Love
Shell.

Cate,

I'm glad to hear that the postponement helped. I'll be trying again on Dec. 15. It's so unfair that you get your results back so early! My clinic said it will be 2 1/2 - 3 weeks before we get ours. I suppose that's better than waiting until delivery...

Hope you get lots of rest and enjoy the time off. Wishing you a stellar result as well - I bet it's a girl, since they have not told you yet from ultrasounds.

Thanks for the good wishes Shell. Feeling a lot more like myself today but still going to take it easy my friend is taking Jessie home for dinner tonight so I won't see her until 7.30 but it means she'll have a nice play etc.
There is much excitement in our house today we got a letter!!! because Paul is taking Jessie on a trip to Lapland to meet Santa and to husky dog drive, rheindeer sleigh etc etc and the day programme came today it will be a lovely treat for both of them they go on the 12th December.

Yes it's great that we get the early results so quickly the other ones?? we have to wait a week or two for because they have to grow a culture, however it was always the downs bit that worried me most, the relief I pray will be incredible, even Paul is begining to look ill over it he doesn't cope very well with worry it's written all over his face.
At the scans Paul has been desperatly looking to see if he could see any signs of the sex that last scan was a lot clearer I didn't look when the needle was in but Paul did. Afterwards I asked her to show me the heartbeat again and I also saw little toes all kicking (protesting)it was lovely, I can't wait to know everything is fine and then it can have an identity I won't mind knowing the sex then Paul has wanted to know all along. They made me sign consent to say it was okay for them to tell him!!
I don't mind what I have, we like the names Annabelle, Izabella, Samuel, Jacob I also like Tobias but I am alone in that!!! It's tricky because Paul is half Norwegian we have a comedy surname so it has to go with that!!! I did look up Norwegian Christian names but they all sound a bit stern. Jessie likes Violet because of the new film the Incredibles!!!

Stay in touch Cate xxx counting down to Monday!!!

Cate:

Good luck today with your results. My thoughts are with you. I truly felt everything was fine with me, but still when the hospital's number came up on caller ID to give me my results, my heart started racing.

My Daughter calls herself Violet (from the Incredibles) and combs her hair in front of one eye to looke like Violet! She's going to be 5 in January. It's too funny.

So you are finding out the sex? Or are they just able to tell your dh?

My Mom paints murals, so I wanted to know what to do with the nursery! I can't wait for her to get started on it.
