I know how you feel. I was really dubious at first, but then thought that I wanted to speak to others going through the same thing, and didn't know whether it was fair to post on this side.
I am aware we have such a long way to go. I now know how devastated you must have been when you m/c last time, and no doubt you are petrified this time too, but you have no need to be scared as this one will work out absolutely fine ... your babies are there for the next 8 months :D :D
When is your first scan?
Mine is on wednesday ... thats the first hurdle to get too. Mind you I am staying very positive, and I know that its going to work out fine for me too.
This second 2ww is an absolute mare ... its certainly slower than the first :?
Take it easy,
all the best Soph-Jane

hi sophiejane & Anna

sophiejane i really do wish i could be as positive as you are im just finding it all a little scary and dont want to build myself up for such a hard fall again if it all goes wrong so im staying safe and half positive and half worried.
thanks for all the support loads of good luck for your scan on wednesday cant wait to hear all about it....

Anna congrats on your BPF how are you doing?
my scan is on the 14th december so i want this week to go so quick just so i can know whats going on but am also terrified as my first scan last time was when we found out something could be wrong.

Hi Susan
Its difficult isn't it. I've never got this far before so its all new. Am trying for the cautiously positive approach. It must be hard if you had problems last time. Still, there's every chance in the world that it'll be ok this time. Fingers and toes crossed! Hope you're taking it easy.
I managed to get a horrible sore throat and cold over the weekend. Great timing eh! Think its beginning to go now - have been trying homeopathic remedies and all sorts since I can't dose up on decongestants. Luckily I'd bought Zita West's book on natural pregnancy last week and it has lots of alternative suggestions of what you can do for various things. My DH has been great at making me a warming apple, cinammon and ginger drink which seems to be helping.
Anyway, all the best for next week

Thank you Valli,
Its twins!! :D :D . I can't believe it. Two sacs with two strong heartbeats. I have just been smiling all day today, and keep on staring at the scan photo. I am not offered another scan at 9 weeks, but the next one is 12 weeks at the maternity hospital.
I saw my GP today, he was as excited as me and gave me a big hug!!!!
Its all sinking in, and I am remaining positive that it will be a healthy pregnancy.
Hope all your scans go well. I will keep on checking the boards.
Thanks to all of you for the support, what great cycle buddies we have all been!!!!

My clinic doesn't do hcg blood tests so I have no idea .... all i did was the hpt. My clinic seems pretty crap really - no blood tests, no 9 week scan, they didn't measure the babies either so I don't know whether they are a good size.
What are your symptoms like? do you feel tired, dizzy etc?
I have started a thrad on the other side for 1st trimester newbies. If you feel brave enough you can join us over there so we can all discuss the scan worries. Some people feel it is too early to do that, but I have my positive head on !!!!!

I'll join the first trimester in a while. The Doctor wants do the scan early in the 5th week, as I am having little bit spottingsince 2nd Dec. Now its better thou.
What syptoms do you have?

Sophie Jane,

I just saw this thread - didn't realize it was twins! I'm so happy for you! I just can't believe it. What a wonderful thing to see the two heartbeats. All this IVF is so hard, it just seems right when one of us gets to have two embies stick.

Gald we are all doing well.
When are your scans .. they must be coming up this week.
I am feeling sick all day long ... and have boobs so sore that I don't know what to do with them ... these symptoms may be exagerated because of the projesterone pessaries. I am so tired that I can't do a full day at work (I'm certainly not complaining about that symptom .. I love lying in bed!!). Like you Anna I have to eat regularly or else I pass out!!
My symptoms are double becuase its twins, and I have always been the type of person to be more ill or more tired than any one else (I'm often called a hypochondriac or a weakling!!)
Susan you are right, I knew all along I was having twins .. very bizarre but I was so positive this time round.
So good luck to Anna, Susan and Valli for your scans. I will keep on checking on you to see how many heartbeats you each have.
Love from Soph
