Progesterone, front door or back door?!

Post by Toni »

Here's one for you girlies,

Progesterone pessaries, which door do you use? and why? My clinic put my first one up front, but i have found that messy (ugh squelch squelch!  ) so i alternate. but then i read on the internet that some clincs recommend doing it up front as its closer to where it needs to be?!

Let us know your thoughts

Hi Toni

My first cycle, they said the front. Then, when I started bleeding a little towards the end, they said change to the back. When I questioned it, the nurse said it made no difference as it is absorbed just as quickly.

Again, on the second cycle they initially said front, but then a different nurse said to continue this way when I started bleeding again - as it would make no difference ......

So, who knows ? If different nurses at the same hospital are giving differing instructions, what hope have we of sorting it all out ?

Oh My God...... just how disgusting is that progesterone gel (I was on Crinone)?!! If anything was going to put me off of sex during the 2ww, then that was it! I kept having great nasty lumps (not unlike playdough)come out whenever I went to the loo or had a shower. I think DH would have had a nasty shock if he had persevered with the sex issue:lol: !!

The crinone was definitely a vaginal gel, but not sure if you're on the same thing.

Good luck with it all.
