jan/feb buddies !!!!!

Post by elizabeth-anne »

my dh and I are about to start our 3rd ivf attempt in Jan/Feb would love to hear from you all to give me some encouragement to feel positive. Because I have been through 2 failed attempts I dont seem to be able to be as positive. I am really excited on one hand and apprehensive on another. I have decided to do a journal of how I feel and I know hearing from you all with any tips would be a boost. I have loved reading all your messages but this is the first time I have posted a message of my own. I have so many q's to ask but I dont want to bore you all with them in one go. I love hearing about things that you have heard about to enhance a pregnacy (like drinking water, asprin and eating something red) so if anyone has any hints and tips I would love to hear from you. Will post again and good luck to all of those who are currently doing IVF cycles.

Hi Elizabeth-Anne

Welcome ! I too have had 2 -ve cycles, and will be doing the next probably around March. I know just what you mean re the mixed feelings.

If you haven't seen Zita West's book "Fertility and Conception", it's well worth the read. It's full of tips re how to optimise your chances of a successful pregnancy. It deals with nutrition, supplements, lifestyle etc, and has a section on IVF. Even if you just take on board a few of the suggestions, it's got to be a step in the right direction.

Hi Elizabeth-Anne

Im not one of the Jan cycle buddies, I am actually coming to the end of my first ICSI Cycle (on the dreaded 2ww right now!). If things don't go right tho I may be joining in................

Anyway, what i wanted to ask was whats this 'eating something red' thing you mentioned in your post??!!? Was that a joke or for real?

(oh, and wear something orange, apparently....................)

Fingers crossed for everyone - baby dust all around

Love

Hi Elizabeth-Anne

welcome to the boards - I read them for ages before I posted, but since posting have found it a great help

First of all I am sorry to hear about your two failed attempts and I admire all of the people who have done it more than once. I am sure that your friends and family are supportive but I really don't think they can appreciate totally what you are going through like we can. There will always be someone to cheer you up (read some of Toni's post :D ) and you can ask ANYTHING - again see Toni's post :!: :D

I had to abandon my last cycle and hope to go again Feb/march so we may cycle together along with Sandra and I am sure others.

Keep in touch and take care - enjoy christmas

Love and hugs

Hi Elizabeth-Anne,

I have posted a message for you on the other Jan cycle buddies thread, but wanted to post here too as I feel the same as you. Our FET coming up will be our 3rd attempt too, and I know just what you mean, it suddenly becomes scarey more than exciting. But we can keep each other going, and I am going to be soooo positive for us this time!!!!

Also, with regard to trying different things, I haven't done the baby aspirin for either of my cycles and I will most definately be taking it this time. Has your clinic said anything about it to you? I really want to give it go!!

Well, wishing you lots of luck and hope we will be cycling together!
