I'm scared too....

Post by sophiejane »

I am 8 weeks pregnant with twins, but for the last two days I have had no morning sickness (whereas previous to this I was feeling really sick all day long). My breasts also don't hurt as much, and yesterday morning and today I had a tiny bit of brown mucus after going to the toilet (this was only very tiny and was with the first wee of the morning ... nothing else showed during the day).
But this has all left me really scared, and I'm wondering whether my babies have died. I'm trying to get hold of the hospital to see whether I can have a scan today.
I am so scared ... do any of you know whether morning sickness does come and go like this, and when boobs do start to stop hurting.
I feel such a panicker but I just can't help it, I am so scared that something has gone wrong.

SophieJ,

Sorry to hear you are in such distress. I hope you can get that scan just to give you peace of mind.

It is true that because of our particular situations we have a heightened sensitivity to our bodies and our pregnancy. I reckon others who have sailed thru being able to get pregnant quickly, never experiencing our fertility/miscariage etc problems probably aren't as hyper-sensitive as we all can be. That said, if you feel something is wrong, then you are doing the right thing in getting a scan. But I feel pretty confident that everything wil be just fine. I'll be thinking of you, and let us know how things go.

Wish I could say more...but I'm sending you all the best.

Hugs,Elizabeth

I hope you get a scan so you feel better, but im sure you will be fine x

SophieJ:

My first trimester I didn't have any morning sickness and the breast soreness came and went as it pleased. I wouldn't worry about all of the first trimester symptoms. Also, I know from some of my second trimester buddies that unless the spotting is bright red and pretty consistent, it's not a lot to worry about.
I wish you luck on getting into the hospital to get your scan so you can hopefully find out everything is fine and can relax again.

Good Luck,

Paige

Sophie-J,

I hope all is fine. I never had morning sickness at all, but we are all different. Hopefully they will book you for an ultrasound today and you will get some good news. It is so scary being in the first trimester right after going through IVF, FET and everything else we do to get here. It makes the 2ww seem like a carnival.

We'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best.

Sophie,
Don't worry about the brown mucus. I had this problem since 2nd on and off. Doctor said its not abnormal and these are because of the uterus changes. Infact it did stop last week. It started again after I went for my first scan. I was so worried, I called the Doctors office. Nurse told as long it is blood or any sharp pains in the abdomen, not to worry. She said even spotting also normal.
About syptoms, I don't have any symptoms at all. I too worry about it.
I hope you got a chance to talk with your Doctor. Did you go for the scan?
Don't worry. Your babies will be alright.
Love Valli.

Thank you all for your replies. I have just had a scan this morning (you can actually make out the babies in the photo rather than just blobs!!) and everything is fine. The twinnies are still there and I have been told that the spotting is nothing to worry about. So relieved. My morning sickness has come back a bit.
I wonder when I will start to enjoy this prenancy without being paranoid every second of the day.
My midwife is coming to see me today, and this certainly makes it feel real. God, I have longed so much to be seen by a midwife, and the day has finally come.
Thanks again for your reassurances.

Hi Sophie,

I am glad all went well with your scan, the thing is all the way through my pregnancy I was worried. I bled on and off uptil I was about 18wks pregnant so I was pulling my hair out.

Let us know how it goes with the midwife.

Merry Christmas.
Love
