Hi

Look like we're ec buddies as I have egg collection Weds too. This is my second one so I can only go by my first experience, when I was so out of it I don't remember a thing, just the bit before and after!! So if I sleep through this one too thats fine by me! I wasn't given a general just a sedative, but it obviously did the trick!

I'm sorry your first 2 isci's were abandoned. What were the reasons? We're icsi too.

So try not to worry too much, I hope the fact that someone else is going throught it the same day helps a bit!

Good luck and let me know how you get on

LOL Jules xxx

Thanks so much for the reply. Am so nervous of the proceedure. Feel a bit better after hearing from you. I am going to stay awake and watch on the screen. Didnt fancy being asleep and then feeling groggy all the way home.
Had my 2 other cycles stopped before egg collection due to a lack of response from the drugs. This time they tripled the dose so I am taking 300iu's of gonal f. Worked goodstyle with this--got a stomach like a beach ball!!! ( more than usual !!)
I am having treatment at Dundee Ninewells although I live in Glasgow. Have to travel up and down. Going up tomorrow and staying at hotel. Have to be Wednesday at 8am !!!
lots of luck to you too.
Love Elaine
(woppa )
xxxx

Hi Elaine,

Glad you've been able to find this site - just read the postings under 'September', and you'll see that your not alone.

I've been on the maximum 450iu dose since the start of stimulating - the clinic realised when I did IUI that I didn't respond very well to the FSH drugs, so luckily I've not had the experience of a cycle being cancelled - that must have been horrible for you - twice. This is my 2nd ICSI cycle, and it seems better than last with more/bigger follies. Don't think I'll ever produce loads - we'll have to see what e/c brings - should be Thursday so I'm not far behind at all.

My experience is that the after effects of e/c was for me like bad period pains - so nothing I couldn't handle with a hot water bottle, but everyone is different, and every cycle can be different - so some feel no pain at all.

Good Luck

Fiona xx

Hi Elaine and Fiona

Elaine - I have to be at hosp for 8am tomorrow too, as the ec is 8.30 – so looks like we'll both be going thru it at the same time!
And I too have beach ball tummy!

I wouldn't mind watching the screen this time, but I just zonked out last time as just couldn't help it. I wasn't too groggy afterwards, the sedative only seems to be in effect as they're feeding it to you and it isn't as bad as a general afterwards. I too had pains like bad period afterwards but like Fiona says nothing too horrendous! And you can look forward to all that dh pampering after too ;D

Fiona – you're only a day behind now, so really close too!!

Good luck to you both girls and here's to lots of hand-holding over the next couple of weeks!!!

Jules xxx
