just wanted to say happy new year and ask how you and Alice and Emily and Ian are doing. I sent you an e-mail but our server has been playing up so not sure if you got it!
I cannot believe your gilrs are already 4.5 months - how time flies! Did you start them on solids - what are you feeding them? Are they sleeping well?
We are getting better and better, just past the 3 months, almost on Gina's routine although not keeping completely stricktly to the sleeping times, but it helps to be following it. Nadia almost sleeps through although she does not eat her bottle during the day, little devil and then gets hungry around 6, but that's not too bad!

Things are great but hectic - as of two nights ago they sleep through from 7-7 - yehhhhhhhhh - but I don't - still wake at 5-5.30 for some reason and that's it!
Life here is so busy as Ian is working all hours and then they are on solids - have been for two weeks. Courgette today - not sure how that will go down as they love pear and sweet potato is ok as is carrot! Baby rice is fine and love the cow and gate custard and the rice pudding - oh dear so vegetables today might not go down to well - will let you know.
Glad all well over there - must dash - dog walk time

got your mails - you sound in great form as usual, very happy to have your news! Second day at work for me and still feeling very emotional, but the babies are being real angels - sleep till 7 for a few weeks now, God bless them and nadia has been eating ok, so I am happy. have to start teaching today so life is getting busier and busier. Also dp is starting to travel for work so it will be a bit harder for these periods but hopfully will not be too long!
Will wait for news from you when you have time, I guess two weeks of solids means you weaned a little over 4 months, am i right?

I don't post much now as i have a very hard time since the boys were born as i found motherhood a complete shock. Hopefully now we are all settling into it though and it seems only 5 minutes since we were waiting in anticipation.

Hi Helen,
i was wondering how things were with you, you sounded so desperate in your first mails and then you did not write. How did you cope? I also had the feeling I was very unprepared and felt overwhlemed and incompetent, sometimes a bit depressed by the monotony and difficulty in the fisrt 3 months, breastfeeding did not go well and I felt so guilty about it and so on. But now we are all better, after 7 weeks of struggle and expressing I left breastfeeding and the twins ae growing on formula and sleeping more and I feel I am not a completely terrible mother, it did not all come naturally to me though. I hope you also feel you are doing better. Write if you can and tell me more how you and the boys have been!

Well Kyle and Brodi will be one on the 27th i cant belive it has come round so quick!!
I think their taken the chicken pox they both have spots and running noses and ive heard thats a sign aswell!!!

HelenLouise how lovely to hear from you - glad you are feeling better about it all - It really is such hard work and a shock isn't it with twins? Lovely but exhausting. AT the moment DH is sooooo busy I am doing it all on my own. YEs Juliana - 4 and a half months just under I started - Alice was definatley ready and cried today when the banana porridge was demolished in 10 seconds flat and she loves courgette! Unlike her father! I have no time for me at all at the moment between feeds, keeping an eye on them, walking the dog, pureeing blooming veggies!

I hope Ian is less busy so that you can get some help with Alice and Emily - is one of them still a but fussier than the other by the way? I gave Alex his first spoon of rice enriched formula yesterday - he gulped it all! I also let him try a spoon of apple juice, he did not know what to make of that, madea puzzled face, so funny. Nadia is not ready for other food yet, but Alex is such a big boy must be about 7 kg by now or maybe a bit less, something like 13lb?

I just wanted to say hello too and am glad everything is going so well. For you and any other twin mummies out there - are you exhausted! can't seem to snap out of the tierdness even when you get good sleep - I've been having a really draining time lately, can't seem to get going to get the housework done or anything, just feeling so knackered all the time, dragging myself around. Someone on the twinsclub.co.uk recommend Floradix (from Holland and Barrett or chemists) which is a liquid iron drink, it has SOOOOOOOOOOO changed my life. It doesn't give you a buzz or anything wierd, it's a completely natural supplement but it works wonders, give you that extra energy to get through the day and feel pretty good at the end of it.
Just a l'ill ole tip for you all, as I can bet my bottom dollar most of you feel the same - don't they wear you out!!
Lucy and Matthew are over 13 months now, Matthew is walking and Lucy is cruising (almost ready to take some steps I reckon but not brave enough yet). They make animal noises and say things like dada, mumma, dod, tat (dog and cat) wos at (with their little pointer up in the air), Ssshhhhh, booooo, no, no, no, no, no (that's lucy's fav) and they both like to hold something (anything in fact) to their ear and say Yes, yes, yes, mmmm, BYE. It's so cute, I love them to pieces, the best thing in our lives for sure. Ooooohhhhhhh what have we all been missing out on all these years waiting. I'm raring to go again (well almost!!).

Sarah, as for being exhausted, i have been feeling like I cannot rest even with hours of sleep (Nadia and Alex sleep surpisingly well so far, knock on wood, thanks Gina Ford....), although things are improving a bit lately. I will look for this drink though, as you say all twins moms (and singletons too I guess) can do with a boost.

Sarah, do you know why the Floradix seems to work so well? I take a daily multi-vit with iron but still felt dizzy at times last week, which DF insists is an iron deficiency. Not unlikely, AF is long and that can't help.
If you rate it so highly, I might ask my mum to bring some out. She's coming over next week and I can't wait! She hasn't seen Maya walking yet plus her talking (Maya's!) has really come on in leaps and bounds. Mum is the other person besides DF and I who thinks Maya is perfectly perfect!! My MIL sees us often so gets to see Maya in all her naughtiness!!

I'm told it works so well because it's 'liquid' iron and because it's in liquid form, it's get absorbed by your system much quicker. It's about £9 for a bottle that will last almost a month.
I've done a quick net search and it's widely available online, you might be able to get it sent to you. Have a search and you'll see what it's for and how it works etc.
