Angel Sent Services???

Post by princessasa »

Has anyone heard of Angel Sent Services? I came across it on a message board and their website didn't have a whole lot of information. I'd love to hear from someone that has had ivf through them or has had any contact with them at all. Thanks

Alyssa,
Hi. I am from the United States, but I am very much in the minority here on this site. This is not to say that I haven't found a home here. All the women on this site are very supportive and understanding. I think the best part of this message board is that sometimes you can be the heart-broken, worrisome, anxious poster and on another day you can be the supportive poster. I think it is very important that we feel heard. At least that is whsat I get out of this board and like some women this is my only outlet. Many of us do not know any other couples who have gone through this issue.

In this post and the post Re: Mexico, I hear you saying that money is a very big issue. IVF is insanely expensive, and it hardly seems fair. I went to the "Angel Sent" site. I am about 99.7% sure it is a scam. Please be careful. Concerning Mexico, I would likewise be careful, especially if the deal is like the Angel Sent Services. I have read some very bad experiences concerning IVF in Mexico with services like Angel Sent.

It is extremely sad that IVF is so expensive. I think Becky mentioned egg sharing and I this would be your best shot of treatment, if there is just no other way. Of course, I do not know how you feel about things like that, and I hope I have not offended you.

Another option is researching clinics that are doing clinical trials. Many times if you fit their need for participants they will do treatment at a discount or pay for the medication, depending on the size of the grant.

These are some of things I have researched. The cost of treatment has been a big stress in our family. We will not be able to afford another fresh cycle treatment until 2006. I did most of my research after my first failed treatment when I felt I could not wait. I wanted to take out a second mortgage, run up the credit cards, donate my eggs, anything.

I hope things work out!

Alyssa, I just looked at the Angel Sent site and like Mia, would put money on it being a scam. There were two things that sent bells off for me.

Firstly, they describe other doctors' bills as 'exuberant' which means happy or bursting with life. They mean 'exorbitant' I don't think a credible organisation would have an unprofessional website full of basic errors.

Secondly the use of the term 'pro-life'. From everything I know, pro-life organisations are usually anti-ivf due to the potential 'waste' of embroys and research that goes on to develop the field.

I'd avoid it like the plague. I know little of the State's but have you tried posting a similar question on the US infertility boards?

good luck,
Debra.
