Can anyone tell me when I might expect my AF to arrive after abandoned ICSI.
History:
I had to abandon a cycle before EC in december as my Oestrogen levels were way too high. On 3rdDec I went for a scan and everything was ok and the doctor told me to sniff the buserlin for 10 days and then stop at which time I would get a heavy AF. A week later I went for another scan and I bleed a small amount that day and then for two more days - but very very light (ie I did not need tampons only bleed when went to the toilet) so was this an AF if that was day 1 dec 10th then I am now late. I realise that with all that I put my body through I might take time to recover and cycle normally again - I am fine our fertility problem is male factor. Does anyone have any experience of this? It is frustrating because I have to this AF and then phone on Day 1 of the next before we can try again and this makes me very impatient!!
Any advice - clues would be great
Thanks
Love and hugs to all

hi julie
i was in your position not long ago. my ivf/icsi was abandoned due to too much follicles and very high oestrogen. i did spot like you after 10 days of stopping which is not due as a proper period. eventually my period came after 2 month. i know you can get impatient as you want your treatment to start again. it so furstarating. but take it easy.
is this your first icsi?
2004-first ivf/icsi stopped due to producing 40 follicles.
2005- first full ivf/icsi BFP. now got a daughter
2008- second ivf/icsi 2 blasto transfer - BFN
Thanks for the reply - it makes me feel much better to hear that this has been experienced by others ( I nearly bought a HPT today!!)
Yes it was my first cycle
What are your clinic doing this time to stop having the same problem again?
Also - was your stomach and ovaries sore - feels like I am getting my AF all the time at the moment!! I feel much better after reading your message - thanks again
Toni - thanks for the reply - hope you are ok - I read about you and Sophie - Jane and the others on the other board now and again- yes those discovery health programs make me weep - but sometimes it is good to get rid of it and more on Best wishes to you and everyone else
Take Care

hi jules
the clinic decided to reduce my gonal f injection to 75 amp instead of 150 which everyone start with. i also was told i will be monitor very closely in the next treatment. which mean hospital appointment every other day to see how i am progressing with the follicles.
my ovaries was swollen double the normal size. just like you i always though my period was going to come everyday. and when it did it came it came with a vengence. i bleed so much.
brink a lot of water. it really does help. take care. and keep in touch as i would like to know when your period come.

Victora - I can not thank you enough for the advice - it got me through the last week and yesterday first signs of AF appeared and today we are off with a vengence - yeah (sort of )
I will wait another month now for day 1 in feb and hope to start sniffing mid march.
How are you getting on?
Hope everyone else is ok - haven't had time to keep up with the messages lately now I am finally well enough to go to the gym again!!
Best wishes to everyone

Julie, I just wanted to say something about water. There's been lots of debate previously on the board about this. Some clinics suggest drinking more and others don't, most people try to remember to drink plenty but not too much. It all came to a head when someone on here was hospitalised after drinking too much (water) and her treatment cancelled. I think it was Caroline, posting under 'cmg' - search by author if you're interested.
Good luck
Debra.

sorry to hear about that story debra. but drinking 2 litre of water a day is a recommended quantity for a everyday life. it cleansed your system and help with the pain of ovaries.

we werent blessed with our babies to raise here but we our blessed with our grandaughter
and all of our many adopted and foster children that touch our lives
and i am glad to add that our 6th grandchild will be born this spring!!!!
As you say, it is recommended that everyone drinks water in normal, day to day life.
However, as Debra has pointed out, you can overdo it. Caroline ("cmg") was seriously ill through drinking too much water during her last cycle in Aug 04. I'm sure Caroline won't mind me telling the tale .... It wasn't just that her cycle was cancelled, she was SERIOUSLY ILL. She was taken into hospital - the staff didn't recognise the symptoms of her drinking too much water - and she had a brain seizure. Pls, take heed .....
(I'm not trying to scare you, all I'm saying is pls just be sensible with it ..)
