Hi at last i've worked out how to post a message! My husband and i have been 'trying' for a baby for the last three years with no success. I have been taking clomid for the last year. We are due to go back to the hospital at the end of this month and i think i will then be referred to have ivf. I know very little about the procedure other than what i have read on this site. I would like to hear from people who are going through it and how it affects your life.
Thanks

Hi Leigh, Welcome!!
Hope this site helps you as much as it does me!
I find it great to meet people here that understand me, I dont know about you but my family my friends just haven't got a clue. They tell me silly stuff like just relax and it'll happen and why dont you try this position etc.... and try eating this that and the other......
They really do not understand, we can never have babe's naturally. Ever in the whole wide world.
So meeting people here who understands is great and getting first hand experience info is great.
It's true it's a roller coaster. But we will all get there some how in the end. I am sure.
Good Luck Honey!!

Hi Leigh and welcome to the board.

A good way of having a crash course in how IVF affects people would be to read an entire buddies thread from start to finish. Each month over on the General Forum, people group together in buddy threads ie. the January Buddies or Nov/Oct Cycle Buddies. These peopel then share their feelings, trials, news, results etc as they all go through treatment. There are different types of treatment each month (the glossary at the bottom on the left hand side of the screen has all the formal names of treatment). Most of the threads get pretty long so prepare for a lengthy read but you will get to see exactly what happens.

Good luck,
Debra.

Hi,
my husband and I have also been trying for approx. 3 yrs. he is 33 and I'm 34 he has two children from a previous marriage...the problem is mine but they cannot find the reason (just to vent a little, his ex-wife is newly married and 37yrs. she just told us that she's approx. 3mos pregnant)...it's very frustrating because at least if I knew maybe I could do something about it! I just started my bcp's and had my 3rd day b/w and I had to have a uterine measurement sometimes called a trial egg transfer so the dr. knows where to place the embryo(s). we should be doing the actual ivf in Feb. let's go through it together to keep from going CRAZY! have you done iui's?

Yes, we have been trying over 3 yrs too. We have Male Factor problems, as it is now I am ok, hormone levels seem ok, scans, and internals have picked up no problems. Tubes all open ........ But no sperm!
We are going to start iui using a donor very soon, have hospital appointment at end of month. Yikes!! But it's still not certain is it?? We still have far to go.
But thanks for this site it keeps me sane!! Helps me!!
