Hi Jules, Well looks like we might just be e/c buddies!!! I also go for my last scan on Friday to determine wether it will be monday or possibly tuesday. However, I do have a sneeky feeling that it will be monday. I am also experiencing twinges in my ovaries, which I never felt on my first IVF. This time I have 12 eggs, last time there were 10. So looks like the Profasi shot will be on saturday, which is when I am going to one of my closest friends wedding - hope I don't forget!!! Let me know how your scan went on friday. Bye for now Lisa

Scan this morning showed this cycle appears better than my first (up to now). Have 10 follicles, 9 of which are between 10 and 13 mm. From memory, last time is was about 8 and only 2 or 3 of these were over 10 mm. Have now to keep fingers crossed that they all grow together over next few days. I'll keep you posted. Fiona xx

Hello girls, Finally found time to log on, have had a heck of a week! Am well into sniffing now and so far I feel great, the only negative is the nasty taste at the back of your throat and the sneezy feelings for about 10 minutes afterwards....actually I quite like the sneezy thing but it does make my eyes water! Good to hear everything is going OK for you all, I really appreciate reading all your news as it helps to get in the flow for whats ahead, You all take care now sending lots of love and +ve vibes, Helen xx

Hi again Bec - how's it going? I went for my first scan and blood test after sniffing on Friday and got the OK for starting stims that night - Merional is the drug I'm injecting. First injection - was nervous, but managed it OK with dh mixing for me. Go back to clinic on Tues for progress scan and blood test. Good luck to Lisa and Jules next week for EC! Have had scans and bloodtests all weekend and each day, including this morning, have been told 'might be taking hcg tonight'. Turns out I'm back to the clinic again tomorrow for s&bt, so e/c will be Thursday at earliest - this fits into plans much better. Last look at follies, there were 3 about 17mm and the rest were nicely catching up - so we're getting kind of excited that this gives a much better chance than last time. Last time my e/c was fairly painful (like a bad months period pains, hoping not to put you 1st timers off), so I asked this morning if I can use these self-heating pads you can get from Boots/Superdrug after e/c - a nice little tip for anyone finding they fancy curling up with a hot water bottle whilst not at home. Anyway, they said at the clinic they thought the hospital ward had them and to ask. A bit of info someone might find useful. Fingers crossed for everyone Fiona xx

Hi everyone Just to keep you updated, when I went for my scan on Fri there were a lot of follies but they hadn't grown to the right sizes yet (so I'm a bit slower by a couple of days than I was last time round). They said it's nothing to worry about but my ec would now be Weds rather than Mon 30th so I went for another scan today and I have about 19 follies (and am sure feeling it now!) and I think the largest ones around 20mm so I'm all set for ec on Weds now!! Have to take my Profasi jab tonight at 9.30. Lisa – was your ec today after all? Hope it all went well if so. Fiona – we're closer together now! Hope you're getting on ok. Thanks for the good wishes Luce and hope you're ok too Beck, Helen - how you doing? And thanks for the support Jilly! Will let you know how it goes on Weds, did anyone have ec today after all? LOL Jules xxx

Beck I started stims last Friday and go to clinic this morning for progress check. EC should be sometime next week, though not sure yet - will depend on my reaction. Fingers crossed for those EC-ing tomorrow LOL Luce xxx

Hi all. Its not yet been confirmed, but I should be having e/c on Thursday - my follies grew incredibly overnight, yesterday the largest was 17mm, today its 21mm. I can totally sympathise with the beach ball effect described by Elaine in another posting. I'm having a general so I'll be totally out of it for e/c, which I'm glad about, but I don't much care for the after effects - I was so hungry last time afterwards, I tried to have some really hot soup and promptly fainted! It was hours before they'd let me have the food back - I was starving - so I think it'll be a safer fruit salad starter for me this time! Wow, 19 Jules - thats good. I don't think I'll be managing more than half a dozen. Still, it only takes 1. Its going to be good having so many 2ww buddies - I think we'd better think about starting a new posting soon, this one is getting enormous. Good Luck everyone Fiona xx

Hi everyone Good luck for Thurs Fiona – wow 21 is excellent! Like you say it only takes one, I had lots of follies last time too but it's the quality that counts! Good luck to everyone else, I'll keep you posted how ec goes tomorrow... not sure yet if my et will be Fri or Sat, as I had a 3 day transfer last time, so it will all depend on how the embies develop. I'm really confused on that one as when I spoke to 2 different embryologists at the clinic a few weeks back one said to ask for another 3 day transfer, then the next day when I called I got someone else who advised a 2 day this time!!!! So I'm just going to have to wait and see I think.... Looks like we'll be starting a new 2ww posting soon.... Jules xxxx

Hi Girls, Havn't checked in for a while, but great to see everyone is progressing along nicely!!! Well my e/c was on monday, they retrieved 15 eggs (ouch!!), but only 5 fertilized. My transfer will be on thursday and I will have to wait until then to find out the grades etc. So fingers crossed that i get 2 good ones from the 5!!! Do any of you girls suffer from nausea after e/c? i was very sick after my first, however I put this down to the cup of tea they gave me straight afterwards. This time I opted for nothing but was still very sick, I guess i must be sensitive to the anasthetic. Plus this time was a LOT more painfull than last time, and I was given more drugs!!!! Anyway, I hope all you girls are OK, and I wish us all the very best of luck this month!! Bye for now Lisa
